Update I left it for a while and it now is working once again Don't know what happened maybe the amp cut out But all that matters is it is working and rocking the house Warrick
Hi There, I have just had a power failure while watching a DVD (Lion King) and when the power came back on I continued to watch the movie only there was no sound coming from the sub. I went over and felt the driver and could feel a little movement and hear something but at a very low volume...
I did the paper thingy to get a line then cut it with a jigsaw, once the tub had the endcaps glued and screwed I did the router bit it came out real neat Warrick
The version that is available in Australia seems different again to the ones available in the states It has a DTS sound track included Check Here warrick
Joel, You can do something like I have done with mine. I plugged the sono with the end-caps then covered with the cloth folding over and stapling to the top and bottom endcaps. I then put on outer end-caps for show, the bottom having the legs incorporated. It may be easier to see in the...
Wouldn't this make it easy to make a veneer sono http://www.bd-international.com/favorite.htm You can even get the end caps Pity it is not in Australia Warrick
Well I have just bought a BFD and am curious whether I can hook it up to two subs so one(A ported Tempest Sonotub) can set up for HT and another (Sealed 12" Jaycar) for music, with both of them having different settings ?? Also can it be set so you can switch them on and off independently...
Mr Hartwig, I had a look at your photos Very impressive, I do like your entertainment centre and the way you have incorporated your speaker stands to the same design. Well done. I also noticed the DVD/CD stand, did you build that or buy it ? I was thinking of something similar for myself...
Griff, Thanks for the reply but the redgum amps retail from $450 delivered and that is a little more than I intended to spend(or what the wife will allow me to spend) Still open to any other suggestions from Down Under. Chris When you bridge a stereo amp does it have to be a special sort...
Hi All, I have found a place that has resurected my 12" Jaycar Subwoofer, the one I blew when building my Sono. Well my question is can I use any amp to power my next creation or will I need a sub amp as I was considering on seeing if there was something cheap on e-bay or at the local pawn...
Tom, If you stick your port through the end cap and the plug then the length of the port should be measured from the inside. So you should have 22 1/4" of your port sticking out of the plug but the actual length of the port will still be 24" Regards Warrick
Here is another suggestion. Cut one disc to the correct size and glue it to another that is slightly larger (this one doesn't need to be cut with a circle cutter) and once the glue has dried you can use a flush cutting bit in a router to trim the larger disc to the correct size. If the discs...
Peter, Have you been to the conrete distributors, I found mine at a paper tube company, you know the ones that make postal tubes just bigger. I have not heard of anyone making one from plastic but as long as it is thick enough not to be flexable it may work fine. warrick
Peter,
The measurement from the Sealed Tempest Applications are external dimensions and take into account the bracing inside the cabinet thus a net volume of 230 litres
You will need a sonotube 36" depending on the exact volume of the Tempest and the thickness of the end caps.
You can use...
Tim, Or you could just plug it into one of the switched outlets on the back of you AV Reciever and it will switch on when you use the system and off when you turn the system off Regards Warrick
