Robert,
I've sure read about a lot of nice things about the 49TX. It's fun to make changes--I'm going to stick with the 307 for awhile, then go to separates, for now, I'm interested in the upgrade.
DVD player as a transport is ok, but it sure gets a lot better with a good external DAC like Perpetual Technologies P-3A. It made a big difference with my Toshiba 9200. I hope to soon add the P-1A to complete the chain. I think the $1,700 spent on the Perpetual Tech stuff is better than...
Mike,
I have two 20-39+'s too. I put the port plug in one of the subs and left the other open. I have a nice flat response down to 16hz.
Best regards,
Harold
I had the MX150 for one year and now have SVS 20-39+. In my room with my set up, the MX150 is not even close to the deep clean base I get with the 20-39+. I listen to 50/50 music and HT. I didn't have the BFD EQ with my MX150, the rest of my system is pretty much the same and the room hasn't...
Pete,
You're sure right about moving the mic a few feet and the changes. I decided I could do the best for position "A", my spot, and that's all I could reasonably do.
David,
I use my B&K 307 notch filter for one bad peek/hump 56HZ-70HZ. I finally decided to try a BFD parametric EQ to...
I just ordered the Outlaw ICBM for DVD-A bass management. I wondered if anyone is using it with Divas and SVS 20-39+'s. I have 6.1's for mains (capable of 27HZ), C3 (68HZ), 4.1 sides (38HZ) and 2.1 rears (48HZ).
I'm wondering what best cross over points are and the ramp (12 or 24 db's per...
I enjoy both. There are some bad DVD-A mixes, but overall I think there are OK. Two channel Q-sound is also a current favorite as is any good 2 channel mix.
Wayne,
100hz did sound louder to my ears, so I have added a nice house curve for my 5,500 cu ft room. Here are my numbers.

Ron,
You can do a net search for Qsound and you'll find a site that lists all releases--there aren't very many.
I was hoping to find something else that equalled "Amused to Death" the imaging on that one is unreal...great 3D.
Both SVS 20-39+ subs are in my right front corner (that's the corner with the longest uninterupted walls). I have moved them in various places in that corner with only a 1db change at best. I think I will have to bring everything down to the null and increase Samson 1000 gain.
Last night I...
I took readings from my receiver which generates tones at all even hz (20, 22, 24, 24 26, etc). I also downloaded the the 1/6 octave test tones recommended by Sonnie and burned a CD. I then set the volume on my receiver so that the CD test dbs were very close to random frequencies, then I took...
Here are my readings with BFD in by-pass. These are raw and comped. I sure would appreciate some input on BFD settings.
Thanks

"I do agree with Sonnie about the house curve, though. Your response is vitrually ruler-flat, and would probably sound better with a gradual rise from 100 to 32Hz."
Wayne, how much of a gradual rise do you suggest?
Rick/Bruce,
WOW, what a great thread. I was in Myrtle the last 8 days and this is the first chance for me to see all your great feedback. Thanks for all the help. This should also help others with this input delema.
Thanks,
Harold
Bruce,
Thank you for the very detailed response. I was trying to keep the sub amp at max--as some recommended, but I was pretty sure the BFD needed a high enough input to be able to deal with it properly.
Thanks for the help.
Harold
Bill,
Thanks, that's a great thread and I had read it before. My question doesn't really deal with the Behringer 1124 settings, it's more fundamental--I think I need to lower my overall volume and I want to know the best place to do that and get the cleanest signal--also keeping in mind the...
