HDTV and DVI: A Very Important Article

That figures Masood...you didn't even read my post, or you didn't comprehand it (can't knock you for that i guess). My point is this: so what if they copy the signal...if they do what i said it will be impossible for them to record it to a DVD-R...thus they will have no where to put the new...

HDTV and DVI: A Very Important Article

This is what i forsee: HD-DVD player's will decode the HD-DVD's that are purchesed (or rented of course) retail. The retail discs will have something physically done to them which HD-DVD players can recognize as being retail (ie proof of purchese). This way, sure someone can record the signal...

HDTV and DVI: A Very Important Article

Also..i justed wanted to say...digital is the way to go. Everyone here was so excited about buying an HDTV that they didn't even realize that all the connectors for there new TV were all analog! Of course HDTV is going to be brought to us in the untainted digital form...for it is the best...

HDTV and DVI: A Very Important Article

Ok.... so the TV doesn't have the decoding software/hardware (whatever one it is)...big deal. Either: 1) the HD-DVD player will decode the picture first and then send it threw the DVI port 2) we'll just buy a digital decoder box to go between the HD-DVD player and our TV. HAH! now...

HDTV and DVI: A Very Important Article

You guys are right...i was being an assface. Well..nothing else i can do i already said sorry...so hate me or don't hate me because this is the internet and i don't know any of you in real life and thus i don't care. I (or my dad i should say) owns a 42" Plasma TV from Sampo. He only got it...

HDTV and DVI: A Very Important Article

I don't think that DVI can be converted into RGBHV plugs let alone YPBPR. Its that whole digital to analog thing... You probably *can* get a 15 pin RGB to RGBHV though...its a 5 plug set up....so if you don't have component + H and V...i don't think it will work. H and V are Horizontal and...

HDTV and DVI: A Very Important Article

Ok...sorry guys. That second post was kinda overboard. Its just my pet peeve is whiners. All they ever think about is ME ME ME. Like it's never their fault. You pay the price for being on the cutting edge and/or going the cheap route. Don't blame others for the mistake. Its none of your...

HDTV and DVI: A Very Important Article

Here is a hint for you noobs out there: get a Plasma TV. OMFG the picture is SOOOO good and almost all of them come with a DVI input...so looks like im still good. and i *think* they are not suseptible to screen burn. Definately a smart move. And to all of you out there with some crappy...

HDTV and DVI: A Very Important Article

Whoa whoa whoa... just because you have a now obsolete peice of trash TV doesn't mean that you can act selfish about it. Maybe you should have done your homework...but i say let all the new advancements carry on! And if you don't have a DVI input...well you're screwed! Deal with it and...

What type of Satellite system(s) do you have?

Unfortunately, noone has posted about their large satillite system (you know those huge 8 footers (maybe more)). I was very curious as to how that system works, how well it worked, future upgrade pathes for the system, etc. Seeing how BIG the dang thing is, i would think that the amount of...

    Screenburn on a projector?

Well...that is alot to consider. I just said 120inches because that is 10 feet and i would think that is a somewhat standard size for FP's and screens. I have went to online FP vendors and look around at projectors like Proxima (these seem like computer specialized projectors) but i'm...

    Screenburn on a projector?

Well I'm not looking for pure size. More like 120 inches, that will be fine. Anything above that and I would think it would be more for a conference room or auditorium. What trade offs are there? I would be getting a projector that has both 4:3 and 16:9 native modes, and one that supports...

    Screenburn on a projector?

I think Front Projecting is the word for what i was thinking of. Im thinking when you have a box that sits behind you and shines down the picture onto your wall or a roll-down (or other type) of screen. Rear-projectors are not intresting to me at all. I am more interested in Front Projecting...

    Screenburn on a projector?

Hello, One of the biggest worries for hi-def tv buyers seems to be the screen burn in. Does this happen with a projector? Obviously you won't be burning your wall or your pull down screen...but can you harm the bulb? Even if you do...shouldn't you just be able to replace the bulb? Or at...

Do I need A rooftop Antenae for OTA HDTV???

I don't want to beat a dead horse (maybe too late) or be a jerk guys... but you all still seem to use terms like "you'll get better reception" when you should be saying "placing the antenna higher up to increase your LOS will increase your probability that you will get the signal". If you...

    Screenburn explained

You don't really need to worry about this if you have a projector? Because if anything bad happenes you can always just replace the bulb? ???

Do I need A rooftop Antenae for OTA HDTV???

Sorry to repeat the above message... but i just want to make sure that EVERYONE understands that with a *digital* signal it does not matter how far or how close you are to the transmitter. There is no such thing as static interference or decreasing signal strength. You either get the signal...
