Sadly, I already knew that MTV/VH1 were going to butcher it. Haven't they done it for everyone else? For as much as I find AOL annoying for pretty much everything about itself, they made up for it for not screwing with the Live 8 experience... esp. w/ PF. Thank you AOL. For once.
I'll have to admit that some of the PT fanboys in certain places that I net visit had kinda gave me a somewhat ho hum attitude towards the band, but I do enjoy IA and I listen to it from time to time. There's a good mix of the heavy and other rock idioms that I enjoy.
IA is PT's first major...
This is more what I ordered online this week: The Davenports - Hi-Tech Lowlife The Argument - Recess Serenade Azigza - Kriya np: mp3 samples of above cd's.
Yeah, I flew out from Los Angeles to see Nearfest also in 2001. Okay, not for one specific band, but it's still a ways to go see some bands. Even better, I left my Nearfest tix at home. That sucked. :b
The Wednesday after it came out I went to Target, Best Buy, then Circuit City. None of them had any. I finally went to the nearest Fry's and they must have had 7 or so left. And it was still $15.99. Granted, the sale price wasn't shown on the label, but when I brought it up, that's what it was...
Too bad I live on the other side of the country, and currently unemployed otherwise I would have definitely signed up. I did make it out to the 2001 , headlined by PTree and Banco with a bunch of fellow prog geeks online. Had a great time even though I wasn't as hard core into it as they were...
This recommendation request sounded somewhat familiar. So using the wonderful search engine, I got this thread:
Suggestions for Canadian bands
There are alot of bands on that thread I would consider indie. Hope this helps.
Oh, since I am thinking of them right now, the Nines are a great...
Everything is getting whacked around like a tissue in a wind tunnel. I think for most people, you're better off getting some sleep and trying in the morning. :D
I got on some server, and I'm humming along at 26.3KB with my DSL. 47% and counting. :D
Wow, there's alot here. I seem to be drawn to these types of threads, and drop my opinion on them.
I was a bit disappointed with Bachelor No. 2 as it all of it turned into mid tempo and slow tunes. I'm listening to Lost in Space through the net right now... yeah, it definitely sounds like a...
You are biased. :) I agree though that other bands are perhaps more deserving. But I will say that Spock's Beard wouldn't be popular among the genre if they produced material that a number of people didn't like and they didn't work their tails off on the road. Just for me, they don't offer...
Hiya,
I'm listening to a couple of the tracks off Snow. I'm not too impressed since in my opinion, I think they've been on cruise control since The Kindness of Strangers, and this doesn't really break much new ground. Maybe the rest of the set won't tend to trot out alot of the same ol same...
There's a huge discussion of electronic music recommendations here at Slashdot
I listen every so often but the names that usually come up are things like Autechre, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, among others.
Geez, why should anyone be mad about it. We know it's T & A. I'm no stranger to liking that kind of stuff. It's not high art. It's rather easy to ignore if you don't like that kind of stuff. I say, go for it.
I own an Alessandro MS-1 which is a modified Grado, and it suits my needs.
