Are manufacturer's missing this point, or are they awaiting the xmas season too present this device or am I the only one asking this question.. I would of thought immediately after the HD-DVD war was over the market would see various version's of Multi-disc players.. I guess I'll have to...
1. 1080p and v1.3-HDMI (HD=player to HDTV) compatibility. 2. HD-DVD format war, a clear winner..... 3. The cost when buying prematuridly (I own a Mits WS48511) Simply - No consumer wants to purchase a device.....twice...........
Do you have an answer to "When will Manuf. Offer 1080P (Progressive 60fps) HDMI Input/Outputs on their HD-Players or HDTV (................So....they can be compatible and I as well as others will not need to repurchase either device at a later date) .............. Thank you in advance,,, If...
It is my assumption and I am not alone but why am I or any HD enthusiast to purchase either of the Blu-ray or HD-DVD players when neither outputs 1080p (1080p is the TRUE HD-format of which Both Blu-Ray as well as HD-DVD Software manufacturer are using, at least they (The Software Manufacturers...
I remember reading the FCC required manufacturers to include a IEEE-1394 connectivity onto this device???? I've yet to view one thta has this connection. It would be great for all those Mitsubishi HDTV owners ............
David you want a future proof AVR, check out Onkyo's TX-NR1000. It has ethernet, firewire, HDMI and their rear panels are of modular design. www.gspr.com ;)

Kevin.............No. You can only use the WS-xx511 HDTV's EXPAND/ZOOM or STRETCH aspect ratios when your DVD Player is set to Non-progressive/480I. As mentioned above the following modes are always available weather(480P or in 480I) you have 16:9(Standard) and 4:3(Narrow) modes.
Tyler, you can expect a "soft" picture that could use VNR. but Video Noise Reduction (VNR) is not enable for 1080I or 480P video sources. I've owned my WS-48511 since 4/5/03 and cannot get ABC(720p) to view as "Sharp" a picture as a 1080i channel, with some exception. The WS-48511 simply...
This receiver replaced my TX-DS898 HT-Receiver, of which you can get for less than the TX-NR900.. The ONLY difference of the two, the TX-DS898 has the exact/exact same features with only three exceptions.....The TX-NR900 has Net-Tune as we know also DTS-96/24k audio processing and selectable...
Josh, the DVD-CP72 has a 4:3 zoom mode for for Non-pressive 4:3 aspect-ratio teles. This player has excellent picture quality. I've reviewed the Toshiba, Sony and JVC FA900BK.
I'm a three year owner of a TW40X81 HD-Monitor and like many of you made this purchase not simply for HDTV but DVD movies, with a progressive DVD-Player. Mistake 1. Purchase of the same Manufacturer's HD- Monitor's DVD-player, did not give me the best DVD-video/picture. I've went...
With all of the various CD/DVD Audio and Video (CD/CD-R/DVD/DVD-R/DVD-Audio/SACD/VCD/DTS/ DTS-96/24)formats. Each time a user play either of these audio formats they can't setup multiple audio or video formats and simply select "Audio" only with the capability too set priority DVD-A or SACD.
I agreed with the low wattage pointed out above and with my TX-DS898 receiver my Onkyo Tape Deck and CD-Player are plugged into mine. Thses components have low wattage and automatically turns on with the receiver.
My Sub is plugged into a AC-Noise-filter(Panamax-500). :emoji_thumbsup:
Anyone own or listened to the following equipment with
a Parasound-1201A(THD=.03%) or Adcom GFA-7400 (THD=.07%)

Onkyo TX-DS898 HT-Receiver > THD = .08% w/110w x 7Chls
7.1 Polk Speakers Setup is > Front Left/Right 2-RT600i...

can't simply play Dual-layer disc...

The only Onkyo/Integra HT-receiver that is upgradable is the TX-DS989/DTR-9.1 receivers.
Canada has a version of the TX-DS898 in silver with RS-232- control only connection and the "Integra" insignial on it.
Higer build quality as far as internals parts(Capacitors,Heat-Sinks etc:)
The...
I've owned the TX-DS898 for 6months and given the additional features the Integra version of the TX-DS898, the DTR-8.2 model I didn't need the following DTR-8.2 features....
Basically after some extensive research(last year)
What's the difference, let me simplify your quest...
I Own the TX-DS898. With a room size of 12 x 32 feet, I just didn't think one rear center surround speaker would
carry the sound forward virtually 20-feet(The sweet spot)
With 2-rear-surround speakers the sound is well
the TX-DS898 was the right choice for this reason and
with...
Do you let them service your set? YES, YES, and YES>...
The 3lemon policy agreement is ifthey have to fix it(Bring it in their shop) a third time, you get to choose to repair the set or simply get a new set (The cost of the old set is post to the new set, additional cost of the new set is...
Most are minor issue but others issues are simply left to the 2003-Model.
I own a Onkyo TX-DS898, it's great receiver for the price (1200.00 at CC), sound and features are great, but what was
Onkyo thinking (If they, Onkyo wanted to sell more TX-DS898 Msrp 1500.00 receivers than the TX-DS797...
If you're looking what player for under 300.00 offer the best Video, Panasonic RP-56 w/Faroudja deinterlacing

Hi....Steve the Current issue of "The Perfect Vision" mag
(Jan/Feb issue) has a review of the same JVC receiver..
I went with the Onkyo TX-DS898 over the TX-DS797. Why?
The DS898 offered 2-rear-surround (powered)chls, vs 1-chl
with the flexibily of 5.1 channels in the Main-romm...
This would be a marketing disaster for the USA DV-S757 Model to not have progressive scan. The Onkyo websites for Canada, Japan and China all state/display this Player to have progressive-scan .
No Progressive scan ...............No Sale.....
Thank you for the note of non-features available on the DPS-7.2, I was aware of this.
My focus was the street-date in the USA of the DV-S757.
Of which states on the ONKYO web-site above that the
DV-S757 is progressive and I beleive have DVD-Audio
Bass-mamnagement.
My guess is a...
The spec's on this player, well does anyone own one or have additional information on the street-date in the USA.
At this time availability appears to be only in Canada and Asia, Link Removed
I estimate the USA MSRP 700.00 and Retail price to be to start at $500.00 to $600.00
I am looking...
:star: :star: :star: I agree with most of you and can we all agree that this very topic all Receiver's Bass Management (Wheather THX/DTS requirements) crossover for the Front and Surround speakers should be a marriage/key
with the speaker's "Low Frequency Response".
Guys this is...
