Please poeple, there was NO bad CGI in Die Another Day. It was all tremendously good and great CGI. Maybe the bunch of you need glasses. Now I've seen bad CGI. Take for example The Mummy Returns, Final Fantasy, Men In Black II, all bad. But not, not, not D A D.
I just watched 1941 and I think the transfere is pretty damn good. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting given Mr. Hunts reveiew. There was almost no print damage. There's a small amount of compression artifacts in heavy fog scenes. Almost the entire movie was shot using a soft filter, so don't...
POTAs had male nudity in the lake scene and at Heston's trial. And had lots of violence as well, but had a "G" rating. Beneath POTAs had lots of violence too, and it was also "G".
The movie "Lifegaurd" had some extended topless scenes.
That was "PG". In the TV movie "ROOTS", scenes in Africa...
Many of the title sequences have completely nude women-in silouette-of course. The Bond films might have faired better if they had gone to R starting with "The Man With The Golden Gun". It might have prevented Moore from being seen as "Bond Lite".
I buy a car. Doesn't matter what make or model. I don't like the paint color, so I change it. Engines not fast enough, change it. Wheels too dull, get some chrome ones. Interior too bland, spice it up. After that and more, I now love the way it looks. I don't care what the builder of the...
Not only that, but they're changing the Zapruder footage so JFK is only niked, the driver gets the head shots. JFK lives and serves another term, 20 years later he and Bill Clinton go clubbing at Studio 54.
Why show the film on TV so close after the DVD release? So people who haven't yet bought the DVD will now be inclined to. And the prices did drop for Black Friday.
On my LD, the scenes on the bridge where the luminescent outline of Enterprise on the rear wall, there's lots of jaggies. Is this also on the DVD version?
Hayden has three years to "bulk up" between shoots. He should appear larger in EpIII. The way he looks now would be too much like "Darth Helmet" from "SpaceBalls":D
Its about time. Its one of my favorites too. The year it was released, I won a storyboard one sheet signed by the artist William Stout from Fangoria magazine.
More style than substance is today's modus operandi. Witness "Final Fantasy", "Tomb Raider", and the like. But these kinds of films have been around a long time. "Willow", "Batmans" 3 & 4, ect. And music, Jeeze, that's a whole new thread. Sure, Britney is a fine POA, but pure bubble gum pop for...
Its not just the ending of the new POTA thats bad, but the entire movie, except the special make-up effects, which will probably give Rick Baker another Oscar. It goes to show that you can't satisfyingly remake a great movie. Like why remake "Gone With The Wind" or "Casablanca" or "Citizen...
Actually, I liked much of "Escape". If you can swallow the premise. "Conquest" also had great moments. The last 20 minutes should be a study in composition, and the apes howling as the end credits roll is unbeatable. Forget "Battle" was ever made, that stunk from beginning to end. But throughout...
Does anyone remember "Escape From POTAs"? How stupid was that premise? That those apes found and rescued the ship from the lake, dried it out, got it to work, jetted off the exploding Earth, went back in time and landed on the shores of LA? BUT, people loved it! Me, too. Gotta love that ending...
www.soundandvisionmag.com is releasing a new calibration/A/V DVD which will be available on 11/26. You can purchase it for $19.95 on their site. Could be pretty cool.
Robert, read the posts above. D2R2-R2D2. Is that some kind of inside joke? Remember that in Close Encounters there is a glimpse of R2D2 on the mothership.
I waited until I could get the new DTS copy and am very glad I did 'cause it ROCKS! The grid is red, not the words, the lines around the words are red. Plus the inner hub indeed reads D2R2.
WE NOW FAST-FORWARD TO THE YEAR 2101
LUKE LUCAS- GEORGE LUCAS' GREAT-GREAT GRANDSON HAS COMPLETED THE 4th REMAKE OF THE STAR WARS MOVIES IN "INTERACTIVE HOLOGRAPHIC DIGITAL REALITY"
Yes, now you can live the adventures alongside Luke Skywalker and company as they save the Galaxy from the evil...
O.K., here's the super secret scoup dudes. Lucas is going to film Episode III on a 30 million dollar budget(to compensate for inflation since '77)and match ANH with likewise technology.
Don't forget "Lords of the Ring" by STYX. As a matter of fact all the songs on "Pieces of Eight" are better than Track 1, which is still way overplayed.
It does act as a sealant IMO. The "ink" stays on and doesn't flake. As far as sonic/visual improvements? I don't know. I just know I like the stuff and feel better with it on.
"DAWN of the DEAD" More of a continuation than actual sequel.
"Dr. PHIBES RISES AGAIN" You gotta love it-"PHIBES!!"
"PSYCHO II" & "III"
"THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2" Avoid the rest.
He doesn't have to keep making new trailers, just keep the new film in the public eye from time to time, whatever form that may take. A month and a half before it comes out is when we'll see the oncoming juggernaught.
