So, did I understand this correctly - the studio breaks even at 13,000 sales? Is this statistic applicable for most shows or only for the show specifically mentioned? Translation: did the studio break even for Twin Peaks s1? did it make enough profit to release season 2?? Ang
I'd like to add my vote for the Baz Luhrman production of La Boheme. It captures the feelings of the characters and the spirit of the opera with a beautiful intimacy. The only negative that I can whisper with this DVD is that the source material was recorded over 10 years ago for tv, so it is...
Depends on how old your friend's TV is - if its less than 5-8 years old, then its highly likely that it will be PAL/NTSC compatible. Older model TVs are PAL only (eg: my mum's TV) Angela
Just to clarify: Region 4 - Australia & New Zealand = PAL Region 4 - South America = NTSC Don't get caught out if your player can't handle either format. Angela
I've been waiting for this one since the day I got my DVD player :)
You'd think with John Corbett's current fame (Big Fat Greek Wedding), surely someone is able to see the potential, join the dots and sell lots and lots of units of this one!

Dear FOX (UK),
While considering the above spec requests, can you please also consider pitch-correcting OMWF for us PAL people.
*sigh* I can't believe I just wrote that!!
When comparing my taped-off-tv version of OMWF with the mp3 versions (which get a listen at least once a week) ...
I can strongly recommend the Baz Lurhmann production of La Boheme for Opera Australia. Great production design and even better singing. DVD quality is generally fine, considering it was made for TV broadcast 10 years ago.
PS - Keep the Kleenex handy ... ;)

Region coding has been declared as illegal in Australia by the courts as it breaches the Trade Practices Act eg: it prevents me from buying a legal title from overseas and playing it on my player ->restrictive.
(And don't get me started on the brains trust that put both PAL and NTSC formats...
My advice, keep well away from the R4 versions of these movies - the transfers as so bad they are almost unwatchable! A travesty for such wonderful movies :frowning: In fact, all 3 movies have been inducted into the Hall of Shame by one of the major R4 review sites.

What I've seen so far:
- a 60 minute behind the scenes making-of documentary
- audio commentary with director, producer, writer
- theatrical trailers

I'll take the chance to join the Hal Hartley love-fest. He is one of my favourite directors.
My I accidently discovered his movies one night when I couldn't decide on what movie to see, so chose one at random. It was The Unbelievable Truth, and I absolutely loved it. So different from...
Sorry Julian,
But I can't bring myself to think of $2Warner in any positive light.
I honestly don't belive they are interested in releasing quality products in R4 - if so, why did we get the NTSC pan & scan version of Willy Wonka??
What about the recent "new" release of Robin Hood:Prince...
SteveK,
We won't be holding our breaths from $2Warner as all they've said so far is: "no comment"..
Nor do we ignore their continuing practice of releasing NTSC titles into a PAL market.
Just makes it that much easier to completely ignore anything with the $2Warners name on...
Once you get the widescreen version, you can join in the fun of identifying screen shots with cameras in the shot and the arm of Prop Dude(tm) :D
Angela
The other interesting sentence in that story is that a widescreen version is rumoured for the end of the year.
The article also speculates if this whole P&S only now, WS 6 months later strategy is $2Warner's attempt to workaround a Federal Court order stopping them from having differential...
