Depends on how old your friend's TV is - if its less than 5-8 years old, then its highly likely that it will be PAL/NTSC compatible. Older model TVs are PAL only (eg: my mum's TV) Angela

I can strongly recommend the Baz Lurhmann production of La Boheme for Opera Australia. Great production design and even better singing. DVD quality is generally fine, considering it was made for TV broadcast 10 years ago. PS - Keep the Kleenex handy ... ;) Angela

My advice, keep well away from the R4 versions of these movies - the transfers as so bad they are almost unwatchable! A travesty for such wonderful movies :frowning: In fact, all 3 movies have been inducted into the Hall of Shame by one of the major R4 review sites. Caveat Emptor! (R4) Angela
