At the major DVD conference at the end of last year (sorry, forget the name), it was announced that MGM would have both the Special Edition of the Fog and Escape from New York in the second half of 2002. With the Fog now scheduled for August 27th, I'm betting that the Escape announcement won't...
First thing I can say is....
OH MY GOD MGM YOU RULE!!!!!!!!
This cover art is even better than the original one sheet that this movie had when it came out!!!! It definately relays the creepiness of the film. Maybe they'll release a 27"x40" DVD promo poster with this art, cause I'd definately...
I hope, but don't expect, that they would also port over the isolated score track from the laserdisc the way they seem to be doing with all of the other supplements for the SE DVD.
Dennis :D
You know what, I may not know all of the reasoning behind why people initially didn't like MGM at the beginning of when DVD hit the popular market, but having only owned a player for the past 2 and a half years, I've gotta say that MGM pretty much is the best studio out there for me personally...
The only things that I had ever heard about the Special Editions of the Fog and Escape from New York was that they were expected sometime late in 2002. Now, with the announcement that the Fog will be out at the end of August, we'll just have to have faith that the SE for Escape gets announced...
I'm really looking forward to seeing what extra stuff they've managed to collect for a special edition of John Carpenter's THE FOG. Anyone have any idea what was included on the laserdisc release???
DT :D :emoji_thumbsup:

If the releases come for STAR WARS (sorry, I won't call it Episode IV or "A New Hope" cause the damn film was called STAR WARS on the marquee when I saw it), EMPIRE, and JEDI and the original versions aren't included, then I will have to use all of my Force abilities not to buy them.
Can't...
The last that I had heard, both the regular edition of the Fog and the special edition of Escape From New York were due from MGM by the end of 2002. No official information about dates or content has been released yet. I believe that the artwork that has circulated has either been taken directly...
I remember at the time that the DVD first came out that it was mentioned that nude scenes were filmed, but were cut from the final cut before it hit theaters, and were not going to be included in the deleted scenes section of the DVD. So, I guess the director must have kept them for his private...
Hey,
I haven't seen any news on this anywhere...so I figured I'd throw it out. I was at the local Best Buy last week and saw a 2 disc DVD set of "The Veil", a show that pre-dated "Thriller" and has alot of hosting/acting work of Boris Karloff. Its by a company calle Something Weird and has all...
Here's my contribution to the fight. It's a completely original composition because I didn't want it to sound like a form letter:
"I've recently become aware of a large number of complaints from uninformed "soccer mom" types
wanting to complain about the "black bars" on widescreen films. I am...
Okay, I know that there have been threads current and past comparing the size of your collections, the way that you store them, calculating the money you've spent and WILL spend in the future, and other things about DVD's...but I wanna play something along the size of DVD Survivor.
I recently...
Before everyone goes throwing a hissy-fit over the fact that the new JUSTICE LEAGUE DVD isn't in widescreen format, did you bother to look into it???
If you had, then you would know that the way that Cartoon Network MAKES the widescreen broadcasts is by CHOPPING OFF the top and bottom of the...
Does anyone think that maybe we'll get lucky and the WB will try to capitalize on the forthcoming Scooby Doo feature film by releasing a boxset of the original Scooby Doo, Where Are You? animated series?
There are only 25 episodes in the original 2 seasons from the 1960's (the best and only...
