I'd also like everybody to remember this thread when the supposedly insanely difficult F-Zero GX comes out and there's another spate of posts going on about that. ;)
So because you state that anybody who disagrees with you is a fanboy we can't disagree? Hardly. Games are becoming bloody well more complicated. And that doesn't mean anything to you nor I who are able to work through a game's controls, but it does mean games are becoming less accessible...
Well, shame you don't speak for the entire world then Jeff. Bioware is one of the best developers going in terms of quality and I'd stack their record up against Blizzard any day of the week. Easily my favorite creative team right now for PC games. Looking Glass was an excellent developer in...
Luke, from what I've been able to determine, the Target course is unlocked via a code that's given out, and apparently EVERY copy of Mario Golf has the course, so it's more a question of finding the code than having the Target game. I've heard that around, but not confirmed it, so there you...
Obviously the Kevin Smith ones deserve a mention, as they tend to be quite hilarious. The Clerks: Animated Series one is my favorite, as it starts off both humorous and bitter, but once they start making jokes about the Korean animators it launches into the stratosphere far as hilarity goes ;)...
I believe Steve has this one correct. The look of Dark Eye is definitely the most claymation-esque of those titles and is, as noted, based on Poe's stories. Realms of the Haunting doesn't look like that at all, though its cult following is well deserved. The very definition of underrated...
I don't think CS is a great example anyways since CS is so stogged full of cheaters these days that you can do just about anything short of unassisted flight.
Yawn, thank you GameCube Hate Squadron for your typical and expected response to this. I'm glad there is a rational place to discuss these sorts of issues on the 'net without doomsayers and system superiority pushers coming out of the woodwork to decry all they see :rolleyes. Lord knows...
I'll be picking up a GBA in a couple weeks just for the Golden Sun titles myself, but there are a number of great other titles I'm looking forward to. One I highly recommend if you haven't played it before is Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island. Yoshi's Island is my favorite platformer ever...
Jason I just don't enjoy investing my time into characters who are likely to get axed without any completion to story arcs or adequate time to develop. It's like reading a five hundred page novel and finding somebody's ripped out the back three hundred pages.
Fox has had its head up its ass for quite some time. If your show doesn't air well in the first two episodes it's canned. By their illustrious standards such notable TV "bombs" like the X-Files and Seinfeld would undoubtedly have been yanked off the air before hitting second season :rolleyes...
I really liked Steve & Josh a lot, they had a really interesting father/son dynamic going on. Josh clearly has that rebellious youth thing on the go, but at the same time he lauds his dad as his hero. I found that really interesting. The ATCs are also a great pairing, I was cheering them on...
Eternal Darkness. This game will go down as an underrated classic I think. Even if it doesn't, it's still a helluva lot of fun to play. It's damned, damned creepy at times.
Ok, here's a few from myself: Metropolis (2001) - "I Can't Stop Loving You" Enough said. I'll never hear that song again and not think of this movie. Se7en - The entire ending starting with the conversation with John Doe in the car. I was rather young at the time and this movie shattered...
What Martin said. :D I look forward to picking this up, as much of it was filmed in and around the area where I live and we enjoy picking out landmarks. :p)
I hope there's an easter egg to unlock the original Turtles theme song hidden in there ;). If this is Turtles In Time quality I'll be all over it, it looks fabulous already, and we know Konami can handle a Turtles game like nobody :D.
I would be elated to find that they had the Sci-Fi Channel rights. The host segments from that era generally suck, but there are some classic episodes there: - Horror of Party Beach - Werewolf - Space Mutiny - The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living & Became Mixed-Up Zombies...
I haven't watched SNL in nearly seven years and the few times I have, it's been absolute crap. The show peaked for me back when Dennis Miller, Kevin Nealon, Mike Myers, and Dana Carvey were still doing it. After that it was kinda funny, now it's just dreck. What passes for comedy on that show...
Marc I imagine you just have a bad ED disc. I haven't heard of anybody else with that problem. Too Human is still in development at SK as far as I've heard lately. Seems unlikely they'd can dev on it out of the blue.
Now that's interesting. I hope that FreeSCI project really comes together, it'd be awesome to have those games playable again. Especially since I have so darn many that are gather dust right now :p)
Larry, it would probably help if you told us what games you had, since otherwise it's difficult to make recommendations. However, Eternal Darkness is a good buy simply because it's a good game and is available at bargain prices. If you like RPGs, Skies of Arcadia should keep you occupied for...
I'm still partial to Last Crusade, mainly because the genius touch of Ron Gilbert graced it. There are parts of that game you can definitely tell he had a hand in, especially the CENSORED boxes that appear whenever Indy is changing uniforms, and when he changes back into his IndyWear(tm) you get...
