Wow, I didn't even notice that. Just went back and had a look at the trailer, and lo and behold...Zhora with Joanna's face in the photograph. Can't believe I missed that.
I guess it's a good sign for how well integrated and subtle some of the fixes will be.
I'm just so stoked that after all...
^If it's for body-double work, they should see what shape Peter Kent is in these days, and if he's available.
Twenty years of watching Blade Runner, and I never once noticed that it wasn't Harrison searching Leon's bathroom. :)
I for one love the idea of the "Final Cut" being tweaked and 'fixed' with new photography. (and CG?)
I really don't get the hostility towards this approach, but don't really care either. Y'all can buy it or don't...I'll be getting this the second it comes out. :)
^It's just a harmless bit of slapstick. I found it funny. And it didn't make him late...he messed with the mops for all of maybe thirty seconds. He was several minutes late.
Rising Sun is anamorphic in pretty much every region except 1, so far as I can tell. Y'might wanna pick up an import. Even then, I recall my R4 as being pretty lackluster (quite an old release) but still, at least having it in anamorphic is better than nothing. :)
There's no need. There is already "bootleg" footage in the making of that clearly shows the scene plays out exactly as it does on the DVD. (As was already noted earlier.) I thought this ridiculous claim was dead and buried? This is what happens when someone resurrects an old thread.
I love the idea that toy guns have to have bright identifiers on them, but cell phones can still be completely black...wasn't there a guy a few years back who got blown away when the cops thought his phone was a gun?
I'm pretty happy with the DVD myself, but I wouldn't mind picking up a full-frame copy of it one day. Just for Imogen Annesley's amazing brea...uh, acting.
A few more, this time including "Reconstructed" which I managed to find. :) (Again, not capped to represent PQ, just for colour and aspect ratio comparison.) And one last one just to prove that they weren't always animating with fullscreen in mind:
First: Rhino Second: Sony FS Third: Sony W/S Obviously, these don't represent the full image quality, but I figured they may be usefull for the purposes of colour/framing comparison.
Are we sure the extra deleted scenes are actually missing? Or are these people just unaware that there are ten on one menu and ten on the other? (Or so I read. My copy doesn't arrive until tomorrow.)
If it had been the "real" title all along, it would likely have been Indiana Jones and the Lost Ark. I dare say if they referred to it as such now, the internerds would be crying bloody murder (Yet again.)
Just finished season 3 last weekend. (Like you, I can only see them on DVD.) Laughed my ass off, as per usual. Didn't know there was a movie coming, too! When the introductory menu came up, I thought they were just joking at first. Reno 911: Miami! indeed. If you liked s1 & 2, definitely...
^Not to mention the claim that Lara will appear via CG. Which they apparently completed in a vacuum so total that no one anywhere ever caught wind of it. The whole article smells like internet-nerd-reporting at its "finest".
Ettiquette prohibits me from using my real-world response, but let's just say it was not so much a sentence laced with profanities as it was a single long stream of only profanities. Darn it all.
Judging by his commentary on Cigarette Burns, I'd say he is 98% retired. He does mention the possibility of doing another Masters of Horror episode, but it sure sounds to me like he's left his theatrical release career behind him. Shame to go out on Ghosts of Mars, but he still has a hell of a...
The bottom widescreen matte seems to be awfully high compared to the old release. The writing at the bottom of the Paramount logo is literally sitting on the matte. But there's more image on the sides, so I'm not sure what to make of the new aspect ratio.
Something of no consequence I noticed... Check out the gorilla at 2m26s in the Skull Island 'doco' That ain't no real gorilla at all. It's one of Baker's "Mist" gorillas. (Probably Digit, by the look of him.)
I too was a little peeved at the psuedo-advert on the main page...just like I was back when Hulk had some ads for softdrink and junk. But as long as they're not forced ads, I'll not complain too much.
