I have 10 SACD's for sale. The list is as follows: Bon Jovi - This left feels right (Multi/Stereo/cd) 3 Doors down - Away from the sun (Multi/Stereo/cd) Train - Drops of jupiter (Stereo) *slight cracks on back of case -SOLD- Eric Clapton - Slowhand (Multi/Stereo/cd) -SOLD-...
Hey guys, I am downsizing my stuff and need to get rid of my beloved SACD player. Its a near mint Sony SCD-CE595 which is a fantastic SACD and CD player. It has been with me for about a year now. It's been in a smoke free environment and taken care of. There is a few minor scratches on the...
I'll consider selling the stuff separate. I really dont want to get stuck with the enclosure though. So if i can find someone who wants the enclosure then its fine by me. As to the price I'll have to look around and see what they are going for. Ryan
I'm selling my awesome Tempest based subwoofer :frowning:. Money is pretty tight this month so I'm having to sell some of my stuff. The subwoofer is in Perfect working order and has never been driven very hard. The enclosure is a 10 Cu Ft sono tube tuned to 16.5 Hz. The driver is an adire audio...
If you want larger diameter PVC check the local plumbing supply stores. They'll tell you the prices per foot of PVC. I got a 6" x 10' tube for around $15 US locally. For sono tube check any local hardware store chains. Around here we have Home Depots and Lowes that sell the tubes in sizes from...
I used a VERY small enclosure so I did go sealed. The PVC was "thin wall" which is about 1/8" thickness. They also sell it in 1/4" I beleive. I listened to them both with and without poly batting inside the enclosures. I decided I liked the sound a bit better with the batting. It also seemed to...
I have built tube speakers in the past using PVC. My brother in law also built tube speakers but using sono tube instead of PVC. In both cases I think it turned out really good. The construction isnt terribly difficult and there doesnt seem to be and mojor resonance issues. Plus you get one...
I would send an e-mail to NHT and ask how much a replacment driver costs. You cant really effectivly use a differnt midrange than the orignal. The crossovers were designed for that specific driver that used to be in there. Ryan
I think i've heard someware that you dont wanna leave any panel much more that 10" without bracing?? Meaning the most unbraced area you would want is 10" i guess. I've found a few pictures heres the links Thomas W's Aerial stryke subwoofer (lots of bracing) Link Removed There are some...
Well could you possibly make a diagram of your room so we can see what your talking about. Are you having trouble getting surround speakers behind you or are they in the walking path etc? You could look into some ceiling or in wall surround speakers. They wont be timbre matched with the mains...
Wow awesome work! Those rings around the woofers make it look very professional. Too bad you didnt make one for that ugly pin cushion frame midrange :D. Ryan
great work! If it wasnt for that port you wouldnt be able to tell it is a subwoofer :D. BTW I love the look of your setup, very clean :emoji_thumbsup: Ryan
The TN28 sounds great. Its got a very clean clear sound to it. I think I like it a bit better than the Tweeter in my AV 1's even. To drive the speakers I have to use an old stereo amp right now :/. I did all the testing with my H/K AVR 230 though. I dont think there are any really affordable...
Hey guys, I know some of you have seen my previous post about speaker designs. Anyway I have just finished my project. I started desinging the satilites and subwoofer about 3 months ago. I finalized the crossover at 2,300 Hz. Its a Linkwitz 2nd order X-over and theres a 2.5 dB pad on the...
Make sure that the subwoofer output is turned on in the menu for the receiver and that its level is up and not like -10. One easy way to test the sub is hook it up to the left or right analog output from a CD or DVD player. Make sure you have the volume on the sub turned down before playing the...
Thanks :D. I'm toying around with shortening the PVC. What I really wanted to do was have a much shorter PVC pipe (3~4") and make a foam cone the same shape as the tweeter. Then attatch that to the back endcap. I think it would look really cool if the woofer enclosure matched the tweeter. But I...
Hey guys. i finally got the tweeters in today! After messing around with them I decided to scrap the MTM for now. It would invlove cutting into the PVC then resealing it. Just seemed like too much of a hassle. I might try it sometime later but for now I'm just sticking with the original TM...
There for speakers that have separate crossovers for the woofer and tweeter. You can use two amps one per driver or one amp and one of these cables that splits the signal. Or you can use a little metal jumper at the terminal cup of the speaker :D. Ryan
My guess is that there so you can bi-wire a speaker with only one amp. Those are very nice looking cables btw. The only cable I have made so far is the CAT5 speaker cables. Of course mine look like crap though :D. What type of cable did you use for the conductor? Is it just standard 12 Ga...
The only two things I can think of to check are the level of the subwoofer on your receiver and if the mains are set to small. On all the receivers i've messed with you can adjust the level on the subwoofer preamp out on one of the menus. Make sure it isnt like -10 dB or something. And if for...
The midbasses I was planning on using at first were these. http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=299-432 They are 4.0 DCR and 6 Ohm nominal. But I wanted a little more power so I switched to these http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=299-433 They are very very similar but...
Ok guys its been a while since I updated this but heres my progress so far. After testing the midbasses out I decided that I wanted to do either a MTM or TMM with these midbasses http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=299-433 They come out to about the same impedance wired together...
If they are ported you can stick and air freshener in them. Just think ever time theres some bass you'll get a puff of fresh air :D. Seriously though, I've had used speakers (and one pair of headphones) that really stunk. I didnt do anything and I either got used to it or it went away within...
I just called a lot of local stores and nobody makes 5" dia anything :/. I think I might try some carpet stores we'll have to see though. I'm thinking about making 5 MDF rings that are 5" dia (outside) being 1/2" think. they would be made out of 3/4" MDF and glued together. If i cut them 1/2"...
Well I just got an e-mail back from PE and it looks like the tweeters wont be in stock untill around the 27th :frowning:. So I guess my project is going to be delayed a bit. Anyway once I get the tweeters I will be sure to take lots of pics of the building process! Ryan
