Topic: friend wants to try out "Make money from home" site--- legit?

A friend of mine is talking about trying out this "make money at home" scheme. He says according to the TV ad many people made lots. The site is www.smcinaction.com. Has anyone heard of this working? is it worth it?

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

I actually felt it had a lot in common with ANH. It had that same breakneak, snowball pacing. The character interaction was dynamic and energetic as it was in ANH. And strangely, despite all the effects, I also felt like it had that gritty documentary feel a lot of the time (which I love)...

Star Wars Ep. III CD Soundtrack + bonus DVD!

While I have never cared for Natalie's acting in the PT, she does do a good job adopting the demeanor of a younger naive girl in TPM, especially as Padme on Tatooine. It struck me in the video how there is a contrast when compared to AOTC, which I didn't really notice before.

South Park's "The Passion of the Jew" to be released on DVD August 31

I actually think the other two episodes listed are much better. The stuff with Mel Gibson in the Passion of the Jew was too silly for my taste.

    In Defense of JAMES HORNER...

I heard the cue in Clear and Present Danger. I'm pretty sure I'm thinking of the same one you are. It plays over the Aliens main titles, soft strings that seem to spell out a pattern of intervals. I heard the same cue playing during a scene in C&PD while Jack Ryan pores over a stack of books...

    6.1 encoding

DTS and DD are two different brands of sound. DTS is less compressed and slightly higher fidelity. DTS-ES 6.1 is a type of DTS sound. It has 6 discrete channels of sound plus the subwoofer (the .1). Normal DTS has 5.1 channels. DD-EX has 5.1 discrete channels plus a 6th channel that is...

    DVDs that just.... "Die"

Good thing they're getting cheaper and cheaper to back up. Maybe someday even blank dual-layer disks will cost buck a piece.

    DVDs that just.... "Die"

In all the cases where this has happened to me, it has been due to a dirty disc which simply needed to be cleaned.

Netflix to start offering downloadable movies in 2005

I think there is probably some demand for this such as college students. A large selection of hard-to-find titles would help tremendously. I'd also say one big potential threat would be the current video-on-demand, especially if the selection increases and it acheives DVD quality.

    Alien3 & Alien Resurrection

The one thing that always bothered me about the scene where Ripley encounters her failed clones was when the live one asks for a mercy killing and Ripley responds by setting her on fire with a flame thrower! Were there no less painful weapons available?

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

You know what the biggest problem is with these prequels? Let me explain first that I'm convinced people complain for the wrong reasons. Cheesy dialogue and contrived plot points were hallmarks of the classic episodes. The old trilogy was great in spite of these things. The prequel...

    Netflix

Well I haven't heard of Wal-Mart doing this, but Blockbuster has the DVD Freedom Pass, which allows you to rent unlimited DVDs for around the same price as Netflix, although only two at a time. The obvious advantage is the ability to instantly exchange the DVDs whenever you want. Right now I...

    'Alien' Question.

No, the company had to have known about the alien on LV-426 beforehand. Not only did they replace the science officer with Ash, the Nostromo's coordinates were rerouted so they would pass near enough to the planet to pick up the signal. In other words, the company preprogrammed the computer to...

WB & Pluto Nash ... even more bad decisions?

An RF converter is used to convert the video and audio signals from the standard RCA yellow/red/white cables to a signal that runs through an RF cable (these are the cables that usually screw on and have a little needle poking out of the male end). You would only need one if you had an older TV...

After HDTV, I'm disapointed with DVD's

Brian-- I had the same first impression as well when I purchased a Hitachi 51" 16x9. The DVD image just didn't look as clear and crisp as DVD had on 4x3 sets. However, I did notice that it made a big difference (at least on my set) when the TV's picture mode was set to MOVIES, as opposed...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: "Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones" (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) (with screen

For what it's worth, my opinion of the movie also changed after repeated viewings. My initial impression of the movie was that it was very fast paced and had a lot of action. After watching again, the middle section seems to drag much more.

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

Ugh, why can't Portman give a decent performance in these movies? Who would have thought? I certainly was happy when I heard she had been cast, and was even impressed by her in the TPM trailer (the 2nd one). And I had always been intrigued by the character of Vader's wife because we knew...

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

The fact that Lucas cut the scene where Padme addresses the Senate has always been one of my major gripes. I love the way it plays out in the script and novel-- Palpatine gives a seemingly heartfelt and emotional eulogy (more hyprocisy on his part, would have been amusing to see, but as I...

    Star Wars Episode II DVD...

Well, to my understanding there was much more cut from the movie than love scenes. I'm not entirely sure, but I think there were additional scenes filmed of political intrigue with Palpatine and the Loyalist Senators, and an early scene with Amidala in the Senate just after her first...

    Star Wars Episode II DVD...

What I really hope is that Lucas might give us an "Extended Version" similar to the Extended LOTR DVD. As I understand, there was quite a bit cut from the movie. Will Lucas dare to try and top LOTR in that arena? :)

Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones (2002)

I agree that the PT characters are lackluster compared to the OT lot, but I wouldn't completely discount the "filler" between action sequences. In Episode II, at least, there is an interesting story going on. But again regarding the characters, I thought the biggest shame in TPM was the lack...

Do we really need 3 or 4 commentaries on each DVD?

Regarding the comment about leaving off poor-quality commentaries to make room for a better quality transfer-- does a commmentary take up enough room to make a difference? I don't really know much about this kind of thing, but it seems to me that commentaries are, after all, only audio and...
