I have looked at the maps on both antennaweb.org and titantv.com. It looks like most of the stations are in the same general direction. I do not want to use a rotor. I am no further than 30-35 miles from the towers, the three main stations are at 309, 261 and 271 degrees. I have a...
I was refering to OTA, I was concerned about only having one RG-6 cable running from the outside into the theater room. I was wondering if normal satellite signals and HDTV signals could "share" one RG-6 cable.
Thanks agian
Thanks a lot.
Its looks like I have almost everything, except the card. (most important piece).
Can I use a diplexor to compine satellite and HDTV signals?
I am going to be adding a HTPC to my theater setup.
Can someone run down the list of equipment I need to view HDTV. I understand I need a new antenna and the signal will travel where??...into a card in the HTPC.
As incentive I added a pretty cool HTPC background that I found on the net...
I have experience with PC's, just not with HTPC's.
I guess I had better read some more on the equipment and figure out what I need. When I have an idea of what to buy, I'm sure I could assemble it.
Has anyone located a source to purchase a HTPC "pre-configured" from a manufacturer?
I just don't have the time to assemble all the components.
Thanks in advance.
I am glad you asked that questions. It sounds like you are trying to do the same thing that I am. 3 Seperate lights controlled by one remote able to use preset scenes.
I would also like to know the cost of this in US $$.
Thanks
Well, it looks like I was wrong...
After downloading the user manual, I saw that the 520 does indeed have DPLII and Logic 7.
Does anyone know if it does S-video conversions like the Onkyo's?
That was my understanding, but when I went to the website. I looked at the "product information sheet" and there it was in big ole' letters "Dolby Pro Logic II"
I was thrown for a loop there for a second.
Has anyone compared the 520 to the Onkyo 696 or 797?
I am confused about another issue with the 520.
Here is a quote from H/K's website...
"It’s supremely capable, with Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic* II, three DTS® modes and HDCD® decoding, as well as four modes of Logic 7 and two modes of VMAx® virtual surround sound processing, and...
I was just about finished with my decision making process. I was going to purchase either the Onkyo 696 or 797. Then...
I saw something on the H/K 520. I went to the website and it looks like something that would work for me.
Has anyone got an opinion on this system?? How does it compare...
I know this has been asked, but here is where I am at. If any of you can add more. Please do so.
Both do..
component switching
DPLII
Onkyo
Better Remote
100 Watts X 5
Denon
90 Watts x 6 ( big plus there)
Cheaper
Anything else that I am missing in this comparison? Other...
Man, I feel like I am awefully slow. I guess its still not clear what it does or how I would use it. More importantly, is it worth the $300 difference?
I was set on getting the Onkyo 696, but I was just reading some reviews and saw that the Kenwood VR-509 has very similar features at half the cost.
I have heard great things about the Onkyo, but is it worth the extra $250 for about the same options??
One more thing... I can get the Onkyo 595...
I am in the market for an Onkyo receiver, I am really wanting the 696. But there was a deal where I could get a 595 for $209.
My wife really wanted for to save $300 and get the 595, my problem started when she asked why I need the 696. I told her I wanted Component Video Switching. She said"...
I am in the exact same situation.
I have the 16's as mains, the e:XL C center, and the e:XL R's for the rears. I am also going to be adding the e:XL 25's.
I have one question about this post. You never address whether or not it was worth upgrading the e:XL C to the C2.
Would this be a...
I was planning on a ported sub, and from my reading it sounds like I should have it tuned to the 20Hz area.
As for internal volume... I have no idea. Lets put it this way. If someone can recommend what I should build then thats what I will do.
Is sealed better?? Agian I am going for a...
Well, I thought I could figure it out. With all of the software programs out there and all of the tubes that others have built. I was wrong.
I am trying to figure out how tall I should make my tube with lets say a 12' shiva and a 16' sonotube diameter. I will probably mount a AVA 250 on...
I hope this isn't a stupid question... But would my Onkyo 696 LFE output power a Sonotube?? I am thinking about building one, but I need to know if I need an additional amp.
Can I use a plate amp on a Sonotube?? Is it difficult to mount a flat amp on a round object??
I not sure if I should thank you for bringing that to my attention. But I would rather get the DPL-II.
I found the 696 for $564 + shipping and the Denon 2802 for $504 + shipping
I am having trouble making a decision between these two units. Price wise I can get them for sbout the same.
They both do component switching, butI have heard that the Denon may have issues with HD. Is this true???
Also, the Onkyo 696 does not have 6.1. I am using the Energy XL series...
I guess I am having trouble understanding the second receiver.
You get the signal from your "Primary" receiver and send to your "Bass Shaker" receiver ???? How do you connect the two receivers together?
The second receiver doesn't need a sub output?
I have just recieved 4 new Bass Shakers, I am now in the market for a amp to power them.
Could someone out there please tell me a good amp to use for these? They require 25W per unit and are rated at 4ohms.
I am not sure if I should use them in series or parallel, so I can use some help with...
