I don't know how widespread the issue is, but I know that MPI never did have the courtesy to at least email back and say, "Gee thanks for alerting of this problem." I haven't tried the disc recently, but am gonna try this, "lay flat" idea and see what happens. I did put the DVD in a slip sleeve...
So I exchanged my disc at the store, got a new one, and same chapter, except a couple minutes later, at about 1:13:40 it does it again. Crap for crap...then it skips from chapter 19 to 20. Oi. I'm guessing I'll just wait it out for a firmware upgrade or something. Hopefully it gets resolved.
Yeah, I updated my player, but no go. I talked to the store that I purchased the disc at, and they'll refund it or if I wait, exchange it when they get more copies in. I also emailed MPI's customer service, so if I can get an exchange via them, I'll do that. If it is a firmware/disc...
I was watching my brand new Baraka Blu-ray disc tonight, and during chapter 18, the disc froze at 1:11:40 for a few seconds, and then again at 1:12:10. At that point the time clock skipped ahead in 30 second or so increments to the next chapter, 19, at 1:19:55. The image on the screen is the...
I'm in BC, Canada...went to three different retailers (London Drugs, Best Buy and Wal-Mart), and none had the 2 Disc edition. I phoned Future Shop, and they quoted a release date of May 16th. To double check on that, I called A&B Sound, and they said it'd been pushed back due to rights issues...
Okay, so I bought a cleaning disc and ran it through. The film played fine last night, so hopefully no more problems...I haven't really gone through all of the second disc yet though.
I have a JVC TH-A35 DVD player and I've never experienced any problems with it since I bought it last summer. Anyhow, I bought the Deluxe Edition of Batman Begins today. I came home and put it in, and during the first few minutes it froze up. So I went back to the store (Best Buy) where I...
My friend had heard that there was an extended ed of The Thin Red Line coming. I figured this was wishful thinking on his part. I'd love to see it, but I thought I'd just double check around here. My search of the forum didn't really turn up anything.
TedD, Excellent pics. Thanks. :emoji_thumbsup: Gordon, Not exactly addressing the original negative question, but, according to this , there would have to be one print of Star Wars (none of the sequels though) preserved. Star Wars was added to the National Film Registry in the late 80s...
I've now finished watching all three films from the first STAR WARS trilogy, and you know what? None of the changes bothered me. In fact I was a little miffed when some stuff wasn't fixed like dated visual effects layering etc. Of course I'm sure most of this will be addressed with the final box...
I'm in Canada, and I just finished watching the films today. I have a JVC TH-A35, and I didn't experience any problems... Maybe my American friends discs are authored in a different place? Could that explain the freezing etc...
Meh, I got my confirmation from amazon.ca earlier today, and in spite of no 'admissions of fault' from Lucasfilm I am going to be quite happy in a couple of days. Plus it seems like Empire has the least amount of bitching going around, and that's the one that'll wear out first around here
Canada Customs is weird. I had a package worth $60 US easily sent up, and no duty. Then a similar price range product was ripped open, box damaged and I got charged duty on top of that. It's a good thing I wasn't buying the item for resale (it was an action figure) cos I would have been pissed.
Don't shoot me, but for the comparison of the Ben Krayt dragon call I prefer the new one...but just barely. The original call sounds too mechanical whereas the new one has a more organic feeling to it. As for tin Vader vs ESB Vader, I prefer tinny Vader...Of course for continuity...
The other night I was feeling like a comedy so I picked something that makes me laugh all the time...South Park! Usually I just go with my gut choice...I have upwards of 270 now so that's hard enough. I can't imagine what 1200+ is like. :S
These days quite a few DVDs that I've purchased are missing Chapter List sheets inside the covers. It started when I bought UHF when it came out, and more and more it's commonplace including copies of Pirates of the Carribean, Peter Pan (2003), The Spy Who Came in From the Cold and quite a few...
No, it's before the title change. The exact chapter that can not be accessed is Title 1, chapter 15. Both my Dvd players freeze up at this point, but every other chapter is easy to get to.
