    My Sony HS10 was shipped

When will it arrive from Japan. It would be nice to have it before the long weekend for Turkey day, but I am doubting it. I am in CA, so it does not have far to go :)

    MA500 Remote turnons

I have two MA500s and cannot get them to go into standby mode. I am running an SR-7200 and a MM-9000. How do I setup the triggers to make the MA500 go into standby? I tried both settings (1 and 2) on the MA 500s and it did nothing. Any helpful suggestions?

    Bridging MM9000 Channels

Subject pretty much says it all. Can I bridge two of the channels in my MM900 like you could with two MA500s? I looked through the manual and did not see any info on it. I would not see why you could not do it unless the outputs are bridged internally.

Question re: AP2 R vs Unrated

Watching (or is it listening) to the commentary they mention 5 scenes that are not in the R-rated version that was in the theaters. 3 of them that I recall were in the first 20 minutes of the film.

Speaker Placement advice in new HT Design please

I do not post a lot of this board, but I believe Marty D. wife's suggestion of turning the room around is a good idea that is overlooked a lot.

How Many of You Don't go to Commercial Theaters Anymore?

After going to see Black Hawk Down this past Sunday I had this same conversation with my cousin. We went from my house to the theater and both looked at each other after about 15 minutes of the film. After looking back on how bad the sound quality was and obvious problems with the film, I...

Is 115db dangerous for my hearing?

85db is also the legal limit in my county for noise pollution at the property line. My car is louder than that at idle sitting in the garage. Bruce is entirely correct on his info of what you hear and the different wieghting scales. This is why people tell you to set you SPL meter to C...

Is 115db dangerous for my hearing?

120db with sub frequencies should not cause any major damage. I used to drive around listening to my music fairly loud in my mini truck for a few years. Levels in the truck were usually in the 150db range. And yes, I would listen to a constant tone just to feel the bass. Or play songs, either...

    Power Conditioners: Monster, Panamax

Please let us know what your tests show. My father got his for free when he bought his last HT system and I am just unsure on whether they are worth the money.

    Bi/Di-polar speakers for rears

The speakers have been level adjusted and they are mounted about 24" above ear level. If I stand up to watch certain scenes I can still hear the difference. Yes, I plan to move the speakers down, but I want to try and get this problem resolved first and hopefullly it is a speaker placement...

Popping sound during DVD layer changes

My 7200 does not pop all the time, just occasionally. I find it annoying and trying to find a way to fix it (although it is an internal thing). It has to do with the turn on circutry in the processor (not the amp since I run component). Does anyone have this problem with the 8200? My friend has...

    Bi/Di-polar speakers for rears

Right now I am running a set of Bipole rears from Energery (RVSS I think). I am not extremely pleased with these for rears. The sound from them is not full and does not sound complete when panning from front to rear. Is this a common problem with this type of speaker, do I have it setup...

    Question for Pronto Users

I agree with everyone on here about the TSU1000 vs TSU2000. I have had my 1000 for two years now and I am very pleased with it. I do not have a ton of graphics on mine, but I do not use any of the basic buttons it came with. I still have about 35% memory free, IIRC. Like others said, when the...

Neighbors keep calling the cops on me

You should definately find out what the laws are that effect you in this situation. I have a neighbor across the street that complains both my cars are to loud. One is fairly modified and one is totally stock. He still calls the county complaining about the excessive noise I make when I drive to...

    Stereo only on "6th Day"

It was a setting in my DVD player. I had it set to Dolby Digital > PCM. That only gave me stereo on Driven when I tried to play it. So I went in and changed it to just Dolby Digital. I only figured it out when I saw the PCM icon on, on my processor and thought that was odd. Thank you all for...

    Stereo only on "6th Day"

I changed each setting in the audio setup on the DVD player last night and nothing changed the output to 5.1 or anything other than stereo. I have DD enabled, I changed from a fiber patch cord to a coax one, nothing mattered. I will try to find someone with a system to try it on. Thank you all...

    Stereo only on "6th Day"

I have tried changing the audio setup on the DVD to 'Dolby Digital' and to 'Dolby Surround', but I still only get two speakers playing the sound. The Marantz (SR-7200) verifies that by only showing the Left and Right speakers in the display. Why do all other DVDs play with complete surround...

Eliminating speaker 'pops' when turning off lights?

This is a thing they had a problem with in car audio a dozen or so years ago. For the life of me I could not remember why it happened. It was not a problem for the speaker or the amp that was causing it. Unless your speaker is completely bottoming out it will do no harm. Hopefully my best...
