You just got your Toshiba set out of the box and already gonna calibrate it? Why not wait 2-3 months? Toshiba sets out of the box look fairly good and I wouldn't rush for a calibration such so soon. :) Sounds like you have a problem with the set because you shouldn't get any sort of lines...
The Sony HDTV new sets I describe are models: WV600 & WV700
Models can be seen along with all the features the set sports at the last few pages of Home Theater Magazine :)
Unfortunately the Sony site doesn't show them for now. :frowning:

Well like I stated before in another thread...its not just light features that are new...its great higher end features like DVI and 720P capability on the 82' models :)
Im thinking of the 57 Toshiba 82 but now I noticed Sony's upcoming new HDTV sets which look killer!!! They also do 720P, also...
If you don't own Fifth Element, what is to lose by buying the Superbit version? It's a big win. In the sense that picture quality is better, sound is better, and no pan and scan side. The current version and the superbit version both are barebones, the way I like it. I don't like extras since I...
Actually, I think the reason why Twister and others from Warner were re-done, is because they had a contract with DTS so Warner had to pick 5 titles. :) Otherwise, there would have been no Twister SE or Lethal Weapons DTS, etc.
It gives me great joy that the transfer is clean according to those who own this title. I can't wait for it this week! More excited and extremely happy Warner did right on the widescreen ratio!
Man, imagine all that stress I had to live with if it was only in pan and scam.
Glad my...
Hmm, I thought NeverEnding Story in theaters started off with a short cartoon, then movie. I thought this was going to be on the DVD?
No biggie by the way though. :D
Dual Layered?
It's also known as DVD-9
Able to fit I think 8 hours of content I think or more..something like that.
The disc has two layers, (not two sides) and the laser reads the disc from inner to out, then from out to inner again. So it's back and forth. You usually see a pause in your...
So now the T2 is in a double Alpha case? I prefer the Gladiator casing with the additional flap for second disc. That is why I much prefer the metal case version. I don't have that slip out problem because this is one DVD I won't let fall to the ground at all!!!
Also, the thick book keeps it in...
So the current DVD of Crouching (Not Superbit version), it has the English dub? And not the Mandarin? Or optional Mandarin? Both tracks in 5.1?
P.S: Glad the Fifth Element Superbit is nothing but widescreen. I am not fond of my current version which has two sides, one with the dreaded pan and...
Here is an insert taken from DVDshrine.com:

What does this mean? I haven't seen this movie, but I wanted to pick up the Superbit.
Anyone care to explain? Does this mean I won't hear a track in English? If the movie was originally like...
Well, I don't mean to be an A-hole or insult or stir trouble. I apologize.
Perhaps i don't notice such minor technical stuff because my setup is not top notch. I am watching my movies on a 27" RCA set with S-Video. (My audio is top notch though.)
Apology if there are dvdfile reviewers on...
It's so funny how all these MGM $10 "Midnight Movies" are widescreen, and not pan and scan, nor do those widescreen discs contain a pan and scam section. MGM in my opinion has made up for some of their errors. I think they are getting better at the game also. (Legally Blonde DVD-14, now that is...
I don't care if Universal makes another edition. As long as my edition is INTACT and identical to the theater version. :) That is all that counts. Let Universal make muliple copies of whatever.
