Over a year ago Gamespot had a news item saying that Konami had announced MGSX, and it would be a port of MGS2. Later on different info came out saying all sorts of different things as mentioned above. My guess is that Sony smacked Konami around a bit to shut them up until after the PS2...

Can someone tell me what the point of the game is, or at least what the point of the first game was?

Just wanted to second the CompUSA suggestion, you can almost get whatever games you want as long as 2 of them are Microsoft games. The shipping charges are kinda steep though. I preordered mine at the EB in the mall instead of online, much better selection of games there than online.

I noticed that Blockbuster has little pamphlets now with the listing. Not that you go to Blockbuster :)
