Richard,
My post was not to express that I am unhappy in any way! As a matter of fact I just found it to be a little comical. Just sharing the experience! ;)
Casey
Hey All,
Just for schitz and grins I decided to test out powering on my BFD while my sub amp was already turned on. Well holy hell the pop was so loud and strong I thought it was going to blow me off my feet! :D
I know not everyone experiences that pop, but I wouldn't leave it to fate! Just...
Wayne, I have been finalizing them. I have used Nero and Roxio. Like I said the files I downed from Sonnie's site worked fine. I compared his and mine in Sound Forge and all looks the same, just that when I burn my files they show up as 0 bytes. Casey
Hey all,
I am banging my head on this one! Story is I downloaded test tones from Sonnie Parker's site Link Removed and successfully burned them to a cd with the track titles and file sizes listed etc. Well now I am trying to create my own tones and burn them but am having a very hard time with...
All, Thanks a bunch for the input! Appreciated! Wayne, My problem is my "Behringer Speak". I have the greatest intentions of translating the instructions you gave me! I will investigate further! I did want to add that those measurements were from Couch 1 right in the middle. I have not...
Hi All,
I have always appreciated the help here at the forum. I now have done some measuring in my room with my new Tempest Sono. Can you offer suggestions on improvement?
I have acquired a BFD and am ready to put it into action! Pics of the room etc. to follow...
Thanks for the input all! Ted, It makes it easier to know what track you are listening to if it correlates with the track number (ex. Track 10 is a 10Hz sine wave). Casey
Thanks Jeff, That's fine if it is moved. The reason I ask is I have seen other members posts (can't find now) that have stated they burned their Cd's with a track number that correlates with the frequency of the sine wave they are playing. Thanks, Casey
Does anyone know what burner software you can assign a track a specific title (ex. sine 10 = 10, sine 11 = 11, etc.) And if so what is the procedure? Any help is appreciated!
Thanks, Casey ;)
Manuel,
Thanks, yes.
I have the setup as shown on http://www27.brinkster.com/jmag999/ only instead of going to the BFD (which is on the way) I have just run a "y" splitter into the back of my receiver in the "cd" input. I am just having trouble with output. The output is there if I turn...
I may be missing something. I have setup ETF and my RS SPL on a tripod. I went through the calibration steps when ETF first starts (in demo mode)up. I adjusted until the mic and soundcard levels were between -10 and 0. Everything is good as far as that goes. My problem is I don't have enough...
Hey All,
Just wondered if anyone could comment on the soft tools offered by Sound Technology. I may have access to either SpectraRTA132 or SpectraPRO332 located here : http://www.soundtechnology.com/download-center.htm
Any opinions?
Thanks for the input, Casey :)
Chris,
Just an addition to your problems daisy chaining with the PE amps. I just finished 2 Sonos for Myself and my Father-In-Law and are using the AVA250's. I had the same problem daisy chaining with the higher frequencies and distorting. It was the first time he was listening to it and I was...
Hello, Pat, When you painted you caps for your Sono's did you allow your color coats to dry (fully) before applying the clear enamel coats? Or did you just top coat the color coats at the same time (usually within 10 min to 1 hour)? Brian, Hank, You may also be able to answer? Thanks...
Vince, All,
Saw this on a search. Found it to be very helpful and just wanted to bump it back to the top for those who didn't catch it the first time!
Casey ;)
One thing that cracks me up about the "wire discussions" is that you can spend a grundle on wire, but what about the .02 cents/ft lamp cord that some speaker manufacturers put in between your terminal to your drivers! :-)
Casey :D
Hey All,
I finished my Sono's and have a problem with the paint on the top end cap. In an effort to keep smudges and etc. off of the caps I would periodically wipe them down with a silky cloth (didn't want to scratch them). Well, I did scratch them very lightly. I didn't wipe on them until...
Hey Wes,
I think we met last year at Jim's. I came with my Father-In-Law. Sounds like a good time, I will inquire with him as well. Email with plans!
Casey :D
I second Will's comments. I think I may have difficulties with a few of mine for that very reason. I did a test fit and it seems a few of the screws are not going into the T-Nut as easily as they should, as if they are a little cockeyed or so. I like the idea of using a scrap screw/bolt to...
Dustin,
Yeah, I meant speaker level. I will have either option but may just stick with the line level inputs. My A/V is a Denon 1802 and does not have variable crossover points. I believe that if you have the mains set to small and the subwoofer set to yes it only feeds 80Hz and below by...
Anyone have a diagram of how they wired their Tempest from VC's to the A/V or similar?
I may go with wiring a coil to each terminal, but then need help on how to "jumper" the terminal for parallel configuration. Also, do you use an single interconnect from the receiver and go into the amp left...
Nathan, I am currently building that Dan Wiggins design that Dustin told you about. I am using 24" tube with a 22.5" port puts me at around 18Hz. I even emailed Dan for "validation" with my specs, he said I should rattle some teeth with that design! :-) Casey
