Copy VHS to DVD - How?

Video tapes have been around since about 1898, when they were invented by Thomas Edison. I taped my first child's birth in 1904, my first grandchild's birth in 1927, and all my kids and grandkids ever since. All their school graduations, weddings, etc, etc. These are the things I want to...

How to tell if DVD is copyrighted? And how to copy if its not?

A Disc Copy (or Disc to Disc) attempt will immediately inform you that "This is a protected Copy", or words to that effect, if it is, and will abort. If it doesn't say that, it will proceed and do the copy for you.

On TV I get all the cable-ready channels, i.e., most everything except the premiums. But (just noticed last night), the VCR refuses to access anything higher than...

    Copy from DVD to VHS=?

The set-up is: 1.Cable signal to VCR. 2. Cable signal, video, and audio from VCR to TV. 3. DVD signals to TV. I had assumed that the DVD output would just be another input item showing on the TV that could be captured on tape like any other input item, and that my only problem was finding the...

    Copy from DVD to VHS=?

My DVD operates on the EXT (external device) channel of my TV (essentially channel 0). That channel is not accessible by my VHS. So, how can I tape a DVD thru the TV? Can't consider direct DVD to VHS for various reasons.
