Fernando - thats the problem with the Yamaha Rcvrs ... it will not select DPLIIx when it detects the dd5.1 or dts stream ... you need to manually set it to dd5.1+DPLIIx mode. This has been discussed in one of threads I started a few days ago. Max

Hi You do have to manually set pro-LogicIIx the first time then every time you go to that input it will revert back to pro-LogicIIx even when power is turned off & on. When you switch back to DD5.1 channel on that input and want to use Pro-LogicIIx you will manually have to set pro-LogicIIx...

Thanks Wayne. I corrected the phase problem. It was indeed in the external crossover that runs the Maggies. Problem is now corrected. But I still don't care for the level settings done by the YPAO ... it tries to equalize my fronts to the rears instead of the other way round. ie. FR +3.0dB...

Thanks Wayne - I just placed the order and got a break on the shipping :) Now, after placing the order I did notice that the RX-V1400 has YSS-930 x 2 (32 BIT) DSP processors ... thats two processors ... but the 5760 and 5790 have only 1 (as per their website). Not sure if that matters to...

The AVR-2802 has preouts for both SBL and SBR. I know that upgrade from II to IIx involves upgrading the firmware. Any chance of Denon offering any such upgrade ? Max

I agree with MuneebM. I was not asking for opinions on any specific receiver - rather wanted to find out the best price out there for the RX-V2400. Thanks MuneebM for pointing this out.

As I understand PLIIx is of not much use in DD-EX or DTS-ES ... since the SurroundBack channels already have a predetermined role. The main advantage (based on what I have read) ... is that IIx ... gives you full-range stereo sound from the surround back speakers when listening to two-channel...

I have four speakers for the rear (SL, SR, SBL, SBR). At present I play most DD 5.1 stuff in 6.1 mode .. where the Surround Backs take a matrix signal from the SL and SR speakers. Since its 6.1 ... and not 7.1 ... the two surround back speakers emit MONO sound. I know that in IIx .. the...

Hmm .. I asked for the Yamaha .. and one of you sent me over to a HK product link ... FWIW ... I need ProLogic IIx and I need the parametric equalization ... which the HK does not have ! For a very objective review of the Yamaha RX-V2400 go here
