At the risk of piling on, I'll agree with those who think the film was disappointing. The book was incredible, but the film alters the entire tone of the story. Thus, no DVD for me, but I do think I may read the book again. It's that good.
This question comes up every now and then...there don't seem to be many MA owners in this forum. I've had the older Silver series 9i's and 4's with the 12i center channel for about 2 years now, and couldn't be happier. I've teamed this system up with an SVS-Ultra and a pair of MA Bronze 1's...
I picked up the new dts version this week at BB. I, too, had heard that red technical grid = new version. In my case, this was true.
...and by the way...for those who already own the DD disc and are hesitant to buy this movie again (like me), go for it! I've owned the DD version since it was...
I received my single Ultra a few weeks ago and have demoed every low-bass scene in my DVD collection. I have also listened to lots of music, but not the low-note organ music you mentioned. I have a 6000 cu ft room and I listen at high volume, but NOT reference level (that's just TOO loud for...
The writer of the "Gimmicks" article gives an update here (second from the bottom, I think). Sorry for being too ignorant to link properly.

David,
You beat me to the punch, so I'll just chime in here. My CS_Ultra was delivered Friday (Thanks,SVS guys, for getting it to me prior to the holiday weekend). My review could essentially be boiled down to "me,too!" but I feel compelled to offer more.
Like most people on this board, I've...
Brian,
I've had little success finding Monitor Audio owners on this board, so I'll try to chip in. I really like MA speakers and recently purchased a pair of 9i's.
As for the 5i vs. 8i....I listened to the 8i for couple of hours in a showroom and was very impressed. My audition of the 5i...
I recall several positive references to this speaker stand, and I like the fact that it's adjustable.
My question: Can it handle a 20lb monitor and maintain good stability? They look pretty sturdy in the pictures, but I'd like to hear from someone who has used them.
Thanks...
Yes, I know it depends on room size, listening preferences, associated equipment, etc. But...
Has anyone had the opportunity to compare dual 20-39cs vs. a single Ultra? If so, what were your impressions?
This forum has sold me on SVS, and based on correspondence with Tom V, I'm leaning...
OK, I'll confess to thinking that a receiver rated at 100 watts per channel into 8 ohms would deliver considerably more than that into 4 ohms without any problem. Apparently, there are other issues to consider.
My plan was very much like Purnam's except that I was planning to use an Onkyo...
Thanks, Ben and Doug, for the well-thought-out replies. I appreciate the details on what you liked (or didnt like) about the Monitor Silver speakers.
Good luck in your respective searches for the perfect (within budget) sound. Ben, I'd be interested to hear how you like the Divas. I read the...
I'm relatively new to this site (first post) but I've visited often lately. It seems there are multitudes of B&W, Klipsch, DefTech and Paradigm users, but I have yet to see anyone give an opinion of the Monitor Audio Silver Series. I even tried searching without success.
I am planning an...
