    What A/V Receiver's at the $300 mark?

Panasonic XR45- $300.00 online. I doubt any receiver in its price range sounds remotely as good- especially for music.

    new TV up and running

I have the same model and also have the described scratches- actually this is my second set and they both were delivered with scratches on the protective screen (scratches were not the reason for the return). A tech came out to look at a "speed bump" seen during panned scenes and while there...

different cable for front and surrounds?

I believe good wire does make a difference-especially for music. I use Kimber 4TC to wire my KEF Q15 front speakers and center, however I am using cheaper Monster cable for the KEF Cresta 2 rear speakers. This setup sounds good for DD and great for 2 channel stereo.

    Replacement powercord for SVS?

Has anyone considered replacing the powercord on their SVS PC subs? The cord is only 18g- it would be nice to try a heavier gauge wire. Any suggestions?

    Good bookshelf speakers for music?

The KEF Q15.2 is a front ported model that goes down to 50Hz. I have the original Q15's and love 'em. Q15.2's can be had for approximately $300.
