Jason, James Gunn didn't write Romeo & Juliet. That was some guy named Shakespeare. Gunn wrote TROMEO & Juliet. Slight difference between a Troma movie and the Bard. :)
http://www.hkflix.com/xq/asp/filmID....qx/details.htm HKflix is always a good place to start a search for foriegn DVD releases. BTW, they have your Better Tomorrow set also.
Does anyone know if Home Vision plans on doing a mega box set for the Zatoichi movies? They could even do like MGM did with the Bond movies and do only a few at a time. I've held off buying these just for this reason. Also, IMDB shows that there were 26 movies with Shintaro Katsu, but Home...
I think it only had one Ministry song: Stigmata. It also had the previously referred to PiL song The Order of Death. Most of the soundtrack from what I remember was score. I've lost the tape since. This was the movie that got me into Ministry. When I first saw the movie in the theater, I thought...
So, it looks to be basically the same, but with a cheaper remote. The 44 model seems to be well received, hopefully the 475 model is the same thing, but newer.
I've always been a Sony man, but I just bought the KV-27FS120 and am very disappointed. The red push is just way too high. I tried to fix this with the service menu to no avail. I was looking at the AV-27FA44, but it's not available locally and I don't want to order online since I tried to order...
Does anyone know if this documentary will ever show up on DVD? The second one (superior in my opinion) is already out. I would just like to have a complete pair.
Mark Best 3: Goodfellas-if this is in a collection, I will always name it one of the best 3. For film quality, not the crappy DVD. Snatch-Love this movie King of the Hill sets-underrated in my opinion Worst 3: Good God, this is really hard with your collection, great choices you have...
Thank you Jeff. Someone finally understands.
Read the previous sentence from that post, maybe, just maybe you'll get the analogy. I'm not too optimistic though.
My point is, the only reason I bought this is for Mike Nelson's commentary. I would like to watch it in b&w with the commentary. That is not available. That is not right. I am not messing with my color settings on my TV. Who cares if it's a crappy movie. It's a movie. It deserves some respect...
Do you know what HTF stand for, in terms of film treatment? Are you supporting colorization? If so, then you're going against these goals. I can tell a joke from a hole in the ground, I just take movies and how they're treated seriously.
Did anyone get this? The colorization is TERRIBLE !!!! Not that I expected it to be good, but you'd expect improvements over the last 20 years. I don't care if this movie is laughable now, it still deserves some respect. Yes, I know that the B&W version is also on the disc, but not in...
Hey James, I own all three of the needed DVDs. Desperado is the El Mariachi/Desperado disc. For some reason, it's listed under Mariachi in DVD Profiler. I own both Italian Jobs, they're in there. But, you did catch that I don't have Unbreakable entered. Thank you.
This is fun, I'm gonna post one for Chris: Best DVDs: Fist of Legend:now the 2nd best MA movie of all time, you should look into getting the Ritek version though. Lone Wolf and Cub movies:I'm holding off for the whole set, but they're great movies. Run Lola Run:great movie, that many haven't...
I feel I got some 'splainin' to do. The American Idol DVD is the wife's. Dark Star I own due to Carpenter loyalty. House of the Dead BECAUSE it's so bad. You can have one hell of a MST3K home session with that movie. By the way, you seem to be pretty into asian cinema, you should check out Ong...
Joe's Best: Seven Samurai-In my opinion, the best movie ever made Goodfellas-My favorite movie ever made The Thing (1982)-My second favorite Joe's Worst: Honestly, there's so many to choose from. How can the owner of Citizen Kane and Seven Samurai own: Under Seige 2, Ghosts of Mars-You...
How about bookends, like the first set. It could be Barad-dur and Orthanc. Saruman and Gandalf. Frodo and Sam. Minas Tirith and Minas Morgul. Minas Tirith and Edoras. The possibilities are nearly endless. My vote though would be for Barad-dur and Orthanc, although that would've made more sense...
I just picked up this DVD also, second Carpenter DVD in a row that broke street date. You can look at my Halloween thread from a few months back, if you can figure out where I got that one, it's the same retailer for EFNY.
You guys know that Quentin Tarantino did some script polishing on this movie? Gonna assume he did it as a favor to Julia Sweeny since she had a small part in Pulp Fiction. Talk about polishing a.....Nevermind. Hate to thread crap. Gee....that Dave Foley sure is funny.
On the one hand, I'm glad DVDFile backed me up. On the other, I'm a little disappointed with the transfer. I didn't think there would be this much uproar about the new trasfer. I figured I was just being overly picky since Halloween is my second favorite horror film after The Thing (82). The new...
I've done a comparison of the 25th Anniversary and the Limited Edition. Not sure if PowerDVD is the best screen cap software, but if someone tells me how to put images into a post, I'll post some screen caps. Or I could just send them to one of you guys and you could post them. The 25th...
You know, the transfer might just be my opinion. I've been spoiled by superb transfers like Episode II, FOTR, and my personal fave Seven. I should probably remember that this is a $320,000, 25 year old film. The grain WILL be there no matter what. I hope the over-sharpening is just my eyes...
Don't have a LD player anymore to check for sure, but I'm almost positive it's the same. My Criterion is framed anyway, so I don't want to take it out. John Carpenter signed it and want to keep it pristine:)
Just watched the 'making of'-"A Cut Above the Rest". Definitely the best Halloween piece I've seen. It has the involvement of all the major cast and crew except Donald Pleasence, for obvious reasons, and Nancy Loomis, for not so obvious reasons. It includes behind the scenes footage I've never...
Sorry guys, been out of town. Just thought I'd post my find before I left. Yes, I did get it. Just now put it in. Not the best picture I've seen. I own the limited edition and the Criterion LD. This one looks a little grainy and a little over-sharpened (not sure if it's edge enhancement). One...
