    REALLY comfy seating..CHEAP!

Darn you Scooter, thats what I just bought them for. Now everyone will have the same theater chairs as me. I bought 3. They may have generic leather, but the swivel-rocker-recliner features with ottoman (also a rocker) along with the comfort can't be beat for that price. They are almost too...

    Stupid for buying on EBAY?

Johnson_B, don't forget about columbia house eighter (go over to dvdtalk.com club forum for that). I quickly built my collection this way. Using them you get new DVDs and you get to choose which ones. IMO much better than buying collections from Ebay where you may already own a few.

Can ya'll take one more look at my collection for reccomendations?

Hmm. Well, to tell you the truth, I'm 12. So you can imagine why I'm forbidden. But don't let that stop you from recommending R titles for my collection. WTF? This is sad, I can't imagine growing up and missing all the good movies because of my age. I was allowed to watch any movie I wanted...

    Are all RPTVs like this?

To check out a set in a store, here's what you would have to do. Sadly, practically no store would do this: 1. Connect it to a progressive-scan DVD player with component cables. 2. Lower the light to 10% of the average screen brightness and make sure there's no reflection on the screen...

    "DVD Rot" problems

David people have tried different DVD players and the disc has the same problem so I think in most cases, DVD players can be ruled out. What I meant was: Is it possible that the disc is perfect before playing, then the dvd player is so hot that it melts the glue in a way that makes it...

    "DVD Rot" problems

Is it possible that it is the DVD players fault, I noticed my new Sony 700p gets the disc very very hot compared to previous dvd players. So is it possible that the player is reheating the glue or something. It seems the most of these problem occur at the dual layer switch from what I have read.

Who else would like The Garbage Pail Kids released on DVD?

Heck yes, I'll take it. But I'll bet it will never be released due to legal reasons. Start looking for that VHS version.

Look at my DVD collection. Tell me what you think.

Well while your collection is small, I'll advise you to keep it that way and only buy movies you really like. I now have just a few under 300 DVDs, i bet there is at least 100 of which I'll never watch again. I just can't seem to figure out where to start trimming it down, and I'm still buying...

Oops, I flinched. Let's shoot that scene again (OR NOT)

I remember during X-files season 1 (I think the shape shifter episode where the thing goes through air vents) Sculy and Mulder sit down in front for a TV, yet in the reflection of the Tv you see a whole bunch of different people.

Direct from Hollywood: Widescreen DVD releases under the gun! Here's the Answer!

"I was going to respond to this, but Mike Knapp said it well. Ignorant means uneducated, not stupid. Calling someone who doesn't understand p&s ignorant is no more an insult than calling Mike an elitist bastard." "Ignorant", like many other words, has a slang meaning and stupid is one of them...

Direct from Hollywood: Widescreen DVD releases under the gun! Here's the Answer!

"So, yes I think most of these people are ignorant, and need to be educated. And I for one will continue to do so." Instead of ignorant, how about uneducated. Your voice will be heard a lot more. I didn't have time to read all the replies, so I don't know if this has been posted. TCM (Turner...

Kenwood VR-507 - auto input switching?

The receiver goes into a temporary suspended mode when no sound is being sent to the receiver. So the split second it takes your DVD player to switch tracks causes the problem. I have notcied this too, but it doesn't bother me as I try to get through those previews as fast as possible. But I...
