    Opinions about Lancaster's "The Train"

I saw this a few months ago on TCM and loved it. It was very suspenseful. Lancaster was excellent as always and Jeanne Moreau was great too.

    Hello Everyone, I'm back...

Hi guys, I'm back after a three year absence. No one probably even remembers me, lol. What have I missed? HTF was the first internet forum I ever joined and I'm not even sure why I ever left. Let me tell you a little something about myself. I'll be 28 in a few months. I work in the travel...

    Ladder 49...worth it?

The similarities to backdrfat end at the firehouse door. Backdraft is more of a mystery thiller where Ladder 49 is a drama about Joquain's character. I really liked it.

    SONY PICTURES PRESS RELEASE: Closer

Why does this movie need a superbit? It doesn't have any explosions it's just four people talking for 2 hours. Why couldn't they put in a commentary or two instead?

I never got the hype over Hoop Dreams, it was good but not the greatest doc ever made as some seem to think.

This is not so far fetched, I was once pulled over for going 90 on the freeway at 4am and the cop was about to write me a ticket when he got called away on something more serious.

'Breaker' Morant: Masterworks Edition coming 26 October 2004

John you've been missing some great Aussie films then. Rabbit Proof Fence, Japanese Story and Moulin Rouge! are three magnificent Australian films that come to mind; and The Hard Word, Chopper, Garage Days, Lantana, and Til Human Voices Wake Us are very good too. BTW, Two Hands was released on...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: The Martin Scorsese Collection (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED).

Great review. The only complaint I have is that you said Goodfellas was Scorcese's last great film. I beg to differ. Gangs of New York, Bringing out the Dead, Kundun, Casino, The Age of Innocence, Cape Fear are great movies in their own rights. Even if you don't think they are as good as...

    Murder On The Orient Express

Murder wasn't Ingrid Bergman's last film appearance, the wonderful Autumn Sonata was, and A Woman Called Golda was her last TV performance.

    Deciding what to watch

I have this problem all the time. With a collection nearing 1200 titles it is hard to pick just one. Sometimes I'll just pick up the first one I haven't seen in a while. Other times I just pick at random.

*** Official THE VILLAGE Review Thread

Adam, I couldn't agree with you more. I think this is his best movie. It is much more emotionally complex and intriguing than TSS, Unbreakable and Signs. Tremendous performances and beautiful cinematography. Also, the SCore was amazing, but it was composed by James Newton Howard, not Howard Shore.

    The Village (2004)

I really enjoyed it. I agree that the twist is not meant to be a Gotcha moment, but one that gives some deeper meaning and resonance to their lives. I think it is Night's best film. On the contrary, I think he did a very good job of showing how she used her heightened senses of feel and...

    *** Official CATWOMAN Discussion Thread

i think in time Catwoman will come to be regarded as one of those so bad it's good, kinda like Showgirls has. This was one of the funniest movies of the year! What I can't understand is why so many talented actors (Berry, Benjamin Bratt, Sharon Stone and Frances Conroy) were thinking when they...

Tom Cruise will never receive an Oscar. Hypothetical...

Craig, why would you say that Tom Cruise has a supporting role in Collateral. The entire movie is about him. Mark Ruffalo and Javier Bardem's characters would be supporting not Cruise.

I was in NYC in July 2001 and went to Kim's. It was great I found a bunch of used Laserdiscs and some cool DVDs. Hopefully, I'll get back there one of these days.

Buying DVDs of shows you've never seen

Before I had HBO I bought Sopranos, Sex and the City, OZ and Six Feet Under and a couple of their TV Movies; loved all of them. I bought the first two seasons of 24 blind; now I'm hooked. Now I rent from Netflix. I rented Nip/Tuck first season and now I'm watching season two live...
