Might as well get it calibrated. Not much sense on spending more money just to remain unsure if the new player made any difference. Be sure to record all the settings once it is done.
Sounds like you figured this one out for yourself. Time for an upgrade if you want to listen to DTS tracks. IMHO I believe DTS sounds better than DD so it would be worth it.
