Can anyone who bought the set let me know what kind of packaging it comes in? It looks like one of those paramount thick "keep-cases" but is there a slip-cover or anything?
You're all pretty much right. ABC wanted to be able to air episodes out of sequence. So the first several were "stand-alone." SWAG was produced to be aired 4th, but they shelved it and ended up advancing with more "serialized" stories. When midseason rolled around they realized they had this...
Wasn't planning on buying FRASIER on DVD but saw seasons 1-3 for about 16 a piece during deepdiscount.com's bit 20% off sale and decided to grab them. Absolutely forgot how good the show was. I'm so happy for the sale otherwise I'd have forgotten this gem of a show. I'm partially...
I got seasons 1+2 blind during Barns and Noble's buy 1 get 1 free sale (both seasons for about 25 each, not bad at all!) after falling in love with My So-Called Life. After sitting with them unopened for about 3 months I finally popped season 1 in. Needless to say, I burned through the entire...
Site is back, it's back up to 74.99 fye.com has it for 31 and some change. With a new account you get an additional 10% off (code - WELCOMECCTEN) A lot of people claim it's now backordered. My order from earlier is still "processing" Still a great deal either way. (thanks to...
I wouldn't expect anything like that. Studios don't really think about things the same way as fans. I seem to recally Buffy season 4 and Angel season 1 being released several months apart despite a lot of crossover episodes that originally aired. My guess is that if Dynasty sells really well...
Then again, as we've seen in T3, they're not above rewriting history (T2 apparently takes place in 1997 now...) and John was 13 at the time of the 2nd film. Point is, it's a "what if" series. In other words... there's no proof that Sarah will die of anything at this point. The advance word of...
Danielle Harris is listed as "Leading role" which leads me to think they may have cast her as Laurie Strode, which IMHO rocks like I never believed possible. Some people don't care for the idea of her playing a different character than Jamie, but I see it as a neat tribute to the franchise...
I have the individual season sets available at www.amazon.co.uk Seasons 1, 2 and 4 are full-frame, seasons 3 and 5 are 16:9 widescreen. All of the seasons look pretty good in comparison to the network airings I remember. To the best of my knowledge they have all of the original music...
Sadly, I don't think we'll get a reissue of Weeds until they possibly do a HD-DVD release. :frowning: I've got HD versions preserved for the first season, but it's depressing not to have an actual BOX, etc... *sigh* Lionsgate kinda makes a lot of mistakes, and very often.
The NOES series was NOT filmed with the DTV format in mind. Considering NOES1 was New Line's first real hit... and the other films were subsequently green-lit based on the box office success of the previous ones... (not to mention, New Line didn't even distribute the films on video themselves...
For people in the NY area. The Landmark Sunshine Cinema down on the lower east side will be showing SERENITY as one of their "Sunshine at midnight" movies. The film will play Fri/Sat -midnight on November 10/11, I believe. I'm excited. They tend to pick movies that they know have cult followings...
Well, one can't deny that the absense of the image now implies that they removed it out of fear. I'm a little annoyed at the fact that the line about the tiger has been taken out of Aladdin. These are NOT offensive scenes. A few people get angry about them, Disney removes the material instead of...
Watched last night. The "erection" is gone. His knee has apparently been digitally removed. Anyone else find that a little ridiculous and kind of funny? By removing it they almost admit the story is true. A christian woman files suit because the perv mistakenly thought it was a penis, when...
The film also scored really well with critics who likely never saw a single episode of the show. I saw it with a firefly virgin as well... she loved it.
Also, the film was made very much in the mentality that even if the public were to know of such atrocities... would it really make a huge difference?
Like any other big dramatic revelation of the world, I'm sure there was a lot of "Oh... it's not true. It's made up to criple the alliance!"...
Because he's not in control of releasing those shows. They are owned by FOX. (Not sure about the Practice, though). There was talk that his older shows would see release in the near future, not sure what's happening with them at the moment.
Might be a bad timeslot for you, but it got a healthy 16 million viewers. Definitely not bad. Unfortunately MNIE and The Office dipped to about 8 million each, and Smallville only 5.
I enjoyed it very much. I'm also keeping it in mind that critics often see the first several episodes of a series when they "review" it. So I'm expecting things to pick up significantly in the next few episodes. It did feel like a lot of set-up... but that's what pilots are. I loved the nods...
I find it funny that they pretty much dumped on 3 of these shows... For Buffy they dropped it when they didn't want to spend the fee to produced further seasons, which allowed UPN to pick it up. ANGEL was dropped despite having year to year increases in key demographics... it was 2nd only...
Best Buy had about 7 copies of season 1 on the shelf when I went the other day. I took all except 2 and put them on the shelf where they were listed for 19.99. I'm sure that'll help push sales (considering the tag on them listed the set for 48.99...) the only indication it was even part of the...
With season 2 they were not only different, but often were used to remind you of things from 7-8 episodes ago. Again, not really necessary when viewing in marathon order... but if you take a break longer than a week or so it can be very confusing, especially for those who don't have the best...
Here in NYC there are always these porno shops that get the latest releases and tend to break street. I saw this sitting in the window of one of the ones near my apartment when I was walking home. I only saw it for a minute (I was rushing by) but it looked like there was a slipcover, for those...
Obstruction of Justice. He kept the police and the world from finding the real killer of his daughter. He may have thought what he was doing was the right thing... but in the end he almost let a murderer go...
Also, he married Celeste... 'nuff said...
Don't forget, they did the same thing when they were doing DIMENSION films... the whole "WES CRAVEN PRESENTS" thing was used for like 10 movies he had nothing to do with. The movie "Wes Craven Presents: They"... he didn't even have a producer credit. He honestly just got some money to let...
Yup, that was the episode where it was nearly 3 minutes long. The episode on DVD probably runs 38-39 minutes now. The whole fun of that was the fact that the episode is largely stand-alone and no prior knowledge was really needed to understand anything. So the totally long "previously on...
