    Need nOrh advice.

If there is a sub planned for the HT as well, go for the 4.0's. The main difference between the 4.0's and 5.1's is that the 5.1's play a little lower; but you would still need a sub with the 5.1's for HT purposes. Also, the 5.1's are only available in wood I believe unless they now make them...

    Weekly Roundup 5/7

Has anybody purchased "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" and can verify if this is FF or WS. I bought it but may return it before opening it if it is FF. Disney's website has one of the bonus features being widescreen, but looking at a screen shot of the back cover clearly shows it's...

    Lexicon MC1 or Outlaw 950?

Randy G - I followed that thread; however, the prices are not the same and the Lexicon, even used is still more than double the cost of the Outlaw 950. But I believe the Lex will be tough to beat for its processing ability in home theater, I just can't decide if it's worth the extra $$'s.

    Lexicon MC1 or Outlaw 950?

What would you recommend? A used Lexicon MC1 for $2300 or wait to buy the Outlaw 950 for $900? Is the price difference worth it or would it be better to spend the difference on other upgrades? ------------------

Help: CAT cables vs Pure Silver Sound

Has anybody done any comparisons between the Silvercats from CAT cables, Link Removed or the Quartets from Pure Silver Sound, www.puresilversound.com and what would your recommendation be? These would be used to run between a preamp and monoblock amps.

nOrh 5.1 evaluated next to Dynaudio Contour 1.8 MkII

I have the marble 4.0's in Franklin, TN. I am still in the process of upgrading my equipment, (sub, amps, pre-amp to come), so the speakers are not yet calibrated. We might be able to set something up if you are interested.

    Sub Recommendations for Music

Dan, SVS-Tom: I don't understand what all of the symbols (Qtc) mean and how those relate to the subwoofers performance. I don't know how the second order affects the performance either. I didn't want a pissing contest, I was trying to be an informed consumer; trying to learn what would my...

    Sub Recommendations for Music

SVS-Tom: I have no idea what frequencies a bass amp may try to reproduce, I am not a musician, the only instrument I play is the radio! You guys must get tired of answering the same or similiar questions all of the time; I just found a thread talking about the same thing towards the end of...

    Sub Recommendations for Music

Thanks for the replies. It appears that the Rava or Dharman have higher q's than the SVS's, which would mean that the SVS's are more "musical" then. SVS-Tom - I was already sold on the SVS 20-39PC for home theater use, I just needed convincing for music use that these would work just as...

    Sub Recommendations for Music

I was planning on the SVS CS Ultra for music and home theater but I have heard that for music, front firing subs are the way to go. I heard that downfiring subs can muddy things up by sending the waves down versus forward. I guess I would still get an SVS sub for home theater use, but...

    Stands for Norh?

What do people think about using pedestals for stands for the 4.0? I was thinking about the 48" version of these for the rears. They only weigh 34 lbs though - will that pose a stability problem with a 45lb speaker...
