Jim, I found the edit to be jerky also. However, I was informed that this was an artistic decision to move the story along. http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...93&postcount=9 http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...5&postcount=23 However, from your post, it sounds like this cut was...

Wow. I didn't realize that my asking about the 'jump-cut' was a sore subject. I was only wondering if this is the way that the director(s) intended the film to be. Since this forum is all about preserving films in the way that their director's intended them to be seen, I felt that this was worth...

I'm not disagreeing with you, Carter. I certain acknowledge and support the decision of directors to cut their movies any way they wish. I just didn't know for sure that the 'jump cut' existed in the original theatrical version.

Incidentally, these two thoughts contradict each other. =) Don't get me wrong. This is not a 'dig' on you. I just wanted to use this to illustrate my point. Maybe this movie has been this way for years, perhaps it is like this in every home copy. And maybe that's the way it was shown in the...

That's kinda harsh. =) Actually, I have no problem moving the story along. But to end a scene in mid-conversation is jolting and takes the viewer out of the movie. Even if the scene is winding down, cutting an actor off in mid-... (insert jump cut) I can't wait to see the clown scene...

I'm glad to hear about the new transfer, 5.1 mix and the new extra content for the upcoming Poltergeist Special Edition. I hope that they address an issue that has been bugging me for years: the bizarre jump cut. If you don't know what I'm referring to, check it out here...

X3: X-Men The Last Stand DVD review

I just got off the phone with Fox regarding the Wal-Mart Bonus Disks and they informed me that they were not sending out replacement disks after all because there are no cast interviews from X-Men III. I asked her about the interviews for the two disk set available outside of Region 1 and she...

X3: X-Men The Last Stand DVD review

Brandon, I have to agree with you. Even if the copies with the extra deleted scenes were only sent with the first shipments, there could still be copies on the shelf. Granted, the longer you wait, the less likely you would be to find a copy, but the possibility is still there.

X3: X-Men The Last Stand DVD review

Brandon, I had to reread this quote myself... "We don't know why they were pulled, and speculation runs from a problem with clearance issues on the deleted material to the possibility of Fox releasing an even more elaborate special edition in 2007". I think they are talking about the 11...

X3: X-Men The Last Stand DVD review

Sev - The 13 vs. 24 deleted scene/alternate ending issue is not limited to Wal-Mart. My friend bought his at Best Buy and it had 13 deleted scenes. I bought mine at Wal-Mart and it has 24. As far as I can tell, there is no way to distinguish them, until you pop the disk in.

I compared my copy of X3 to my friend's copy again. The same selection of deleted scenes appeared whether I was looking at the X-Menus or the Brotherhood Menus. One DVD has 13 deleted scenes (including the alternate endings), whether you are looking at the X-Menu or the Brotherhood menu...

Monty Python and the Holy Grail...Again?

Does anyone know if this release will contain the "King Brian The Wild" animated segment? There is also some extended dialogue from when King Arthur inquires about the shrubbery from the old woman. Both of these are found in the game. I have both of these in QuickTime, but I would love to...
