Kino Lorber Insider, would you happen to know who owns the rights to Bert I. Gordon's The Coming (aka Burned at the Stake)? I've been trying to find out for a long time, and I'm not sure if it's Universal, MGM or someone else entirely.
Mister Lime, might you know who owns Bert I. Gordon's "The Coming"? I can't seem to nail down who has the rights.
Grabbed "Rawhead Rex". A splendid release and the movie was as fun as I remembered.
Mr. Lime, do you know if MGM possesses the rights to Bert I. Gordon's "The Coming"?
Thank you for the sale. I buy my most wanted Kino releases upon release, but this helped considerably with catching up on some I hadn't gotten to yet.
Kino is killing it. So many releases I intend to buy. I don't drop by often, so while I'm here, a few recommendations I'd love to see them consider in the future - Blood and Lace, Pandemonium, Highway to Hell, Impulse (1984), Transformations and The Curse/Curse II: The Bite.
I remember the Zone Troopers art well from my video store days. Never got around to renting it, but will definitely give this release a look. Another obscure sci-fi film I'd love to see hit Blu is Transformations (1988).
Does MGM have Ghost Town (1988)?
I'm a big fan of the work Kino is doing and am especially excited for Miracle Mile. A few titles that I would love to see Kino get for BD release if possible:
Heart of Midnight (1988) - Jennifer Jason Leigh's best performance, IMO.
Highway to Hell (1991)
Blood and Lace (1971)
The Day After...
Intense episode tonight. .... .... .... I was hoping like crazy that they wouldn't off Tessa. That absolutely solidified the Tobins as my most hated villains in anything I've watched in quite some time. I'm still fuming. Can't wait for the remaining two episodes and hopefully some major...
Thanks. Grabbing two of my favorites from 2009 this week, The Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans and The Collector, both on Blu. Might also pick up The Relic for cheap. Haven't seen that one in ages.
I'm loving how Patty and Ellen are using Alex as a pawn in their mental tug of war. It would be nice to see her catch on and what her reaction will be, though it may not continue now that they've teamed up.
Martin Short is turning out to be a very inspired bit of casting. Interesting new angle...
I was surprised to see a horror tribute at the Oscars, but are they really under the impression that Twilight is a horror film? Ugh.
I wish Anna Kendrick had gotten that SA award. On a related note, I can't believe they're going to give the Best Actress award to Sandra Bullock over Carey...

Caught up with three 2009 releases recently:
Dare - unique coming of age drama about three high school seniors and the shady relationship that develops between them. Alexa is a wannabe actress who becomes uncomfortable at the very mention of sex. She hangs out with her childhood friend Ben...
The Wolfman - new version of the Universal classic with Benicio Del Toro in the titular role. In spite of all the production problems and incessant delays, this isn't a terrible film. It feels very pieced together, but it has it's moments of promise. Unfortunately, most of that promise is never...
The Crazies - this remake of the 1973 George Romero film sees the rural Iowa town of Ogden Marsh become unhinged when it's residents begin exhibiting odd behavior, usually culminating in acts of violence. Sheriff David Dutton (Timothy Olyphant) is at a loss to explain what's happening to the...
I've been watching this story on the local news, and the building is basically a cinder. Being quite familiar with the area, it's going to be weird seeing it gone. First the almost bombing of the Fountain Place, and now this.
Added my first two 2010 releases.
Daybreakers - in the near future, a bat-borne plague has turned 99% of the human population into vampires. The remaining humans are hunted down and farmed for blood by a corporation headed by Charles Bromley (Sam Neill), an individual who views vampirism as a...
So, with what Dogen said about Sayid/Claire, it seems that perhaps Claire really did die in that house explosion when the mercs invaded. It made me think back to how James got pissed at Miles because he was looking at her strangely. He did the same with Sayid, so maybe he noticed something off...
Loved the last scene at the airport. The look on Martin Short's face was great. Any sympathy I may have had for Joe Tobin went out the window when he decided to let Marquette die. Speaking of which, it's nice to see Madchen Amick again. She doesn't look like she's aged much from her Twin Peaks...
He's been doing that for a few seasons now. If I remember correctly, he and Miles even had a bit where they compared abilities.
It's good to see Cindy (I think) back. Hopefully she's around a lot more this season. Pseudo-Locke's chains comment seems to hint that Richard was a slave on the Black...
