I guess I should know that if there was any new news on this release, I'd have seen it already. But since I'm a foolish optimist I'm still holding out some hope. Anyone know of any updates on possibly seeing the rest of the series? Could HTF try to get a Paramount chat scheduled so we could ask...
Anyone have any idea what happened to this series? Was it not selling well? After having 4 seasons released in 2005, we've only seen one in 2006. I'm starting to grow increasingly concerned that I might not ever own the complete series.
Despite my tremendous disappointment after reading David's review (as well as a few others), I decided to purchase the title anyway. While I agree with everyone's point that I should reward Disney with my money after they do a shoddy transfer, I'm a bit surprised that no one is giving some real...
For those who have already read the review:
Anyone else more than a little disappointed that the Donner Cut will apparently be having the exact same ending as S:TM? Don't get me wrong, I'm still extremely excited to finally see it, and I'm sure it'll be a huge improvement over the Lester...
It's a little unclear whether or not it was made. After NBC abruptly changed their original plans and aired the series pilot prior to the finale, a number of news outlets picked up on the story. I remember reading a couple that said the documentary had been produced but they could obtain rights...
I'm disappointed that no commentaries have been announced for this set. I've found the commentaries in the other seasons to be pretty interesting, and would definately like to have heard one for the election episodes and the series finale. I was also hoping to finally get to see the...
I've caught up with the show on HBO On Demand, and am becoming a huge fan of it. Anyone own the first season and care to comment on the quality? And any word on when the second season will be released? I'm a little bit hesitant to buy this series because it seems like it could be a early...
Thanks for the hard work, Dave. As I said earlier, while I would've preferred a widescreen version of Season 1, it wasn't a make-or-break decision for my purchase. But with subsequent seasons planned for release in widescreen, I'm one happy fan! :)
I'd completely disagree with that point. How many times have fan raged on these boards when a film shot with an open matte was released in FS instead of WS? It's not a matter of how the content was originally captured, but rather how the creators wanted the content displayed. In the case of...
ComingSoon has posted a new press release from Fox Entertainment, which you can read here. Some stuff is a rehash, but there's more detail on the documentary "Within a Minute". And, more importantly, there's confirmation that a highly-anticipated deleted scene will be included. (Just in case...
I don't mean to seem argumentative, but I have to say I think the Director's Cut of Return of the Joker is the best animated Batman film ever, and probably second only to Batman Begins as far as all Batman films goes. The storyline is outstanding, the action scenes are well written, and it fits...
Actually, it was a direct-to-video movie. It eventually was shown on television, but no differently than any other movie would be shown on tv. Just prior to it's release on video, WB ordered it to be recut for fear it was too intense for children. Aint-It-Cool-News started a massive protest...
Maybe Seinfeld or Cheers would've been good comparisons, but Friends certainly wasn't. It actually had a stellar first season, averaging 24.3 million viewers per episode. On an unrelated note, I can't wait for The Flash to hit DVD. It was one of my favorite shows when I was younger, and I...
October 11 seems like an awfully strange date to release it. After all, the third season is scheduled to start on September 19. Why not release it prior to the new season with the hope of finding new fans?
Thanks for the review, David. However I've gotta say I actually think this was one of the best adventure movies I've seen in a long time. I enjoyed the plot, the characters, and the balance of humor and adventure. I know it wasn't hugely popular with critics, but I predict many viewers will...
I just noticed that The Digital Bits has posted coverart for Father of the Bride: 15th Anniversary Edition and has it scheduled to be released on 5/7. This is one of my favorite movies and I've always wanted to see a re-release, but I had no idea this was coming out. Anyone have any specs?
That was by far the best response they've ever given regarding Superman II. Maybe there's enough motivation because of the upcoming film to finally do worthy DVDs of the Superman films.
Chat's over. This post contains all the questions that were asked. Look down a few posts for Robert Crawford's list of the announcements made by WB. I know that Humoresque is coming out in June, are there any other John Garfield films in the pipeline for release and are Spencer Tracy and Clark...
Does this set finish off the original series, then? How many other series have there been? The only one I can think of is the "New Adventures". Anyone know how many eps of that exist?
TV Guide's "Ask Ausiello" feature included the following Q&A:
While I'm sure the SRP is not final, the rest of that news is fantastic. I love the show and purchasing it was a no-brainer, but these features make me anticipate it even more. :emoji_thumbsup:
Wings is by far the TV show I now most want on DVD. And I agree it's developed quite a following over the years. I don't think I've ever seen a show that was as heavily syndicated as Wings was. It was airing on USA 4-6 times a day for a number of years. Hopefully, we'll see it on DVD sooner...
I guess that's my problem. How can Fox possibily not know that? I mean, we know more and more people blind-buy TV shows, and that's just based on our discussions on these boards. One would imagine that Fox and all the studios base their sales on some type of studies. They must be aware that...
Ron, I'm thrilled you brought this up. While I watched the eps when they aired, I've managed to get my parents to watch them on DVD. Both of the spoiler images mentioned in the first two posts of this thread should have been surprises, and were instead ruined by the idiotic placement of images...
I know this a bit off-topic, but I just finished watching "The Americanization of Machiko" on Disc 1 on the 2nd season, and at the end when it showed Sam leaping, it showed the first season episode "The Color of Truth" instead of the next episode "What Price Gloria?" Anyone know why this...
