I've got a Pioneer Elite mega-changer and the sound quality's excellent. I also have groups created, so I can select a group (such as Jazz, or Retro) and hit random. The changer will then play from those groups. It's been awesome.
One observation, however. My Pioneer (and, I think, many...
Pop Up Stopper has been on my computers for months. It also stops the annoying X-10 pop-under ads. To open another window, just press the ctrl key or the shift key while clicking on a link (or the open-in-new-window option). I, personally, like the agressiveness as it gives me total selective...
Will, If the breaker's a 15 amp breaker, then you'll most likely have 14 gauge wire (most builder's wouldn't spend the extra money to run 12 gauge on a 15 amp circuit). If it's a 15 amp circuit then, I see nothing to gain by putting 20 amp receptacles in the circuit. It could, in fact, be...
Alex,
I, too, am using an external amp with my 5800. But, with my old efficient Klipsch speakers, I really had plenty of power from the 5800. I found the Denon to be plenty strong and dynamic all by itself. Now, that might not be the case with less efficient speakers.
About three months...
Keith,
I can't comment on whether or not the grills are removable, but I've had incredibly good luck with Spot Shot carpet cleaner (I buy it in a two-pack at Costco). It's also safe as a laundry pre-cleaner and it's removed almost every kind of stain from every kind of fabric, without damaging...
Robert is correct. There is no phase adjustment on the subwoofer itself. I should have mentioned that it's on the X-30, but I have mine at 0 degrees in my current setup so that's not a big selling point for me. How selfish of me! :)
Yup, I was right. I had a 90-day warranty and I'm beyond that.
Does anyone have any ideas before I send this thing somewhere?
Thanks and happy holidays to you all!
Ross
Well, what I find myself changing is not the crossover frequency but the sub's volume. *That* you can do while listening. The X-30 will also permit you to change the sub's crossover frequency while listening, simply by turning a knob. But, the speaker's cutoff frequency is selecting by using the...
Howard,
I'm sort of the opposite of my fellow Arizonan. I originally bought the Servo-15 without the X-30. For many months, I used the internal 80hz crossover of my Denon 5800 receiver. I was happy with the sound, but I found myself reaching behind the sub (a pain) to adjust the master volume...
Jim,
I should have specified when I asked your symptoms that I would be of absolutely no help... :)
I was just curious if your problems were the same as mine. If you do get it fixed, please let me know what it was. Mine seems to have added a new problem, so maybe mine's getting worse...
I, too, have a 3300. It flawlessly plays DVD-Audio discs, and I don't need a monitor to play the tracks. But, my unit is also very sensitive to some discs. I get frequent "blocks" and stutters on less than perfect discs. My unit was a uBid refurb, so I just assumed it was a bit "off" (and I'm...
Howard,
I originally bought my Servo-15 without the X-30 control unit. I used, for a few months, my Denon AVR-5800 and was pretty happy. The 80hz crossover in the Denon worked fine with my speakers, but might not with yours. The control unit gives you the flexibility to adjust the crossover...
A second (or third?) for the Klipsch site. www.klipsch.com
There's a section listing individual repair/replacement parts and their prices. You can order direct from Klipsch that way. You could also call them at 1-800-klipsch and follow the prompts to the parts department. Real people and real...
For the Maguire's plastic cleaner and polish, try a motorcycle shop. It's available there for the Lexan windshields in motorcycle fairings. There is both a cleaner version and a polish version. I've not used either on discs, but they work great on airplane and motorcycle windshields.

If you're concerned about a ground fault or incorrect wiring issue, you can buy a small plug-in tester at Home Depot or any similar store. It's a small module with several (3?) LEDs, and a three prong plug built into it. The whole thing's only about the size of a heavy extension cord plug, and...
I own both a Pronto (the old TS1000) and an Aktis. If it's any indication, the Aktis sits unused in a drawer and I (we) use only the Pronto. The Aktis is too limited in its flexibility and programming. I'd never have spent money on it, but it came with my receiver.
Go with the Pronto. You won't...
You might also consider the Acurus amps that Klipsch is selling through uBid or onecall.com
I've also got a 5800 and I just ordered an Acurus 200X3, for my front end, from uBid.
