Bruce, Does that Onkyo receiver have a "multi-channel" button on it? I have an Onkyo TX-SR501 receiver, and it is able to pass 5.1 (Dolby Digital) through, because the DVD player I have decodes the 5.1 for it.
I have a rotator, which I have to use to get my locals. It happens on any channel (or antenna position). I can understand signal path disruption as has been described, but I can duplicate the problem at any time by simply yelling or slaming a book on a table.
For HD, I use a Samsung SIR-T151 OTA receiver. If there is a loud sharp noise in the room, I seem to "lose" the signal for a moment. After a second, everything is ok. I use an outdoor antenna. Any ideas why this is happening?
What I've heard the most on this topic is that a digital STB (separate unit instead of a built-in digital tuner) is the better way to go for a couple of reasons. 1. HDTVs cost less than HDTVs with built-in digital tuners 2. If the built in digital tuner has a problem, most people would...
I have 2 VCRs, and both are used on a regular basis. Here are the examples of when I use them: I don't own a digital recorder, so I use the VCR to record tv programming. Not because I won't be at home, but because it's damn near impossible to watch anything with a 2 and 4 year old running...
It's no wonder that I don't go to the movie theater anymore. Either some jerk is disrupting the movie for me, or there's some jerk who is angry that I've got up go to the bathroom.
I am using Windows 98 with Internet Explorer. There is a website that always takes longer than most to get to, and my home computer always does the "Page cannot be displayed" action on me when I try to go there. Is there a way to increase the time Internet Explorer takes to get to a page...
But I see that you haven't bailed on putting your few cents in on every thread about Enterprise. Jason, I would hate to see some of your posts about the Red Sox. Talk about letting someone down.
Hello, When I click on the spell check button on Outlook Express 6, I get the message: "An error occured while the spelling was being checked." I have Windows XP Home Ed. It didn't have Word or Excel originally, but I have added Word 97 and Excel 97 to my computer. Any idea? (and no comments...
While the subject has changed to MD for the moment... I'm so glad that I didn't purchase that home MD player/recorder and car MD player a few years ago. What a waste of money that would have been. However, like others have said, it did do ok in Japan. When I was there 2 years ago, I was in...
Is anyone gonna watch tonight? I'm convinced that some people watch it just so they can bitch about it (of course, some bitching is justified). As usual, I will. I guess I'll just hope for the best.
That is the exact reason I bought my first DVD player with on-board decoding. Actually, I still have it hooked up that way in my living room, and it works great.
Are there any problems with installing Excel 97 on Windows XP? I received a new computer at work, and it doesn't have Excel, but I have the Excel 97 disc from the previous computer.
