Hi Phil, I know it's a hassle, but I've read that if you have your guns exchanged, it'll fix the problem. That seems to be the ONLY fix. Just make sure the tech is an ISF who can calibrate & converge for all imputs/modes. Good Luck! -Todd
Flickering will be during dark scenes & you'll see the picture go lighter, then dark. It is very intermitant at first, but then starts to happen often. In the end, you'll get a green tone that flickers on & off. You'll be able to see this on all inputs / modes. You can check it by looking at the...
I'd agree. In no way am I saying anything bad about the Toshiba. No doubt it is a top choice & most people would be VERY happy with it. It has a GREAT picture for DVD & HDTV as well as SD material. I think the Sony picture was a little better is all. It's HD picture was better for sure. When I...
I few days ago I did the rest of the service menu tweaks that are recommended with the Sony & now my cable signal & Dish signal are EXCELLENT! All of the grainyness is gone & the picture is bright, clear, colorful & detailed. There is no doubt that out of the box, the Sony is really horrible for...
I purchased the KP-51WS500 after looking at the Toshiba. What I found was that basically it comes down to one thing...high quality input vs. low quality input. The toshiba, out of the box, looks considerably better for poor quality feeds such as cable or sat. The Sony is very grainy OTB for such...
Unfortunatley in Cleveland, FOX had a power surge on Sat. & it blew out their Digital board that does the 16x9!! So we got to watch it in horrible 4:3! Yuck. Add that to the audio drop-outs & it was just plain terrible here. I talked to the head engineer at FOX Cleveland & he was so upset...
Also once you try the Radio Shack $17 bowtie antenna, if you have problems getting any stations in, I recommend the Stealthtenna by Channel Master. For $29 this thing kicks major butt! My RS bowtie was fine except for our CBS & NBC stations in Cleveland which didn't come in well at all (the...
Not sure what feed you are getting, but during the superbowl, the HDTV (DTV really) FOX feed had a TON of audio droppouts. The halftime show included. It really made it difficult to watch.

Yeah I'd have to agree XBOX, for a midrange non-PS DVD player is very good. Some MS haters just won't hear anything about it being anything except a very low end DVD player, but that just isn't the case thankfully. PS2 is very low end for DVD playback, XBOX isn't. I was shocked that the...
Actually, Xbox video quality on DVD is quite good for an interlaced DVD player. Not high-end of course, but it's better than my Toshiba 2200 that's for sure. I've compared my 3 DVD players including the Toshiba, XBOX, PS2 & the XBOX is hands down the best picture. My PS2 DVD quality is not...
I contacted XBOX customer support. Much to my suprise, after waiting 30 minutes on hold, I actually got to speak with a person representing Microsoft!! Anyway, I didn't get as far as "Snow" before he interupted me laughing saying "Yep, we've received hundreds of calls about that!". He said...
I have this same problem. Funny thing is the DVD-2 of the Snow White set plays just fine. All my other Disney DVD's play just fine too!! Only Snow White is a problem. Bummer.
Just to add to what was said in the previous post, there are many movies that do fill the entire screen of a 16x9 TV. In fact it seems more & more movies are this way. Dinosaur is one movie that comes to mind that is just awesome & will fit perfectly on a widescreen TV & that is just one of...
This is one of the best indoor UHF antenna's you can buy for HDTV; new in box. Asking $49.99 (or BEST OFFER) which is what I just paid 2 weeks ago. E-mail me at [email protected] .

I was trying to figure out the names of the HD announcers. I know I've heard them many times before on regular season games. By the way, the playoff games that were in HD on CBS had these same guys instead of the #1 announcers so I was prepared to hear them for the Super Bowl too. I wish they...
Keep in mind Aaron, with DTV / HDTV, there really is no in-between signals that cause snow or worse pictures. Either you get the picture or your don't. So as long as the screen isn't pixelating, cutting in/out, or pausing, getting a stronger signal won't necessarily mean a better picture...
HDTV update for Cleveland people:
I use a $17 Radio Shack 2-bowtie antenna that sits on my STB, which is on my TV. I live in Twinsburg, which is about 16-19 miles from the transmiters. Keep in mind, unless something has changed that I don't know about (ie the DTV is coming from a different...
