I thought it was a great superhero movie. On par in a lot of ways with Batman Begins. Good character development, special effects, and plot all made it a cool movie. Robert Downey Jr as the particularly flawed and warped Tony Stark is dead on. The movie kept me interested even in the slow parts...
One that I don't think has been mentioned yet, but always irritates me for a variety of reasons is Pearl Harbor. One scene that I can think of offhand is the cartoon like depiction of the bomb being released and followed down to hit the Arizona. Mangled depiction storyline aside, they could have...
After reading the CNN interview and reading about the apparent errors/glitches in the set, I'm glad that I never had any intention of buying this particular version. Does anyone know if the temperature in hell is falling? =) Patient I must be.
I bought the first 6 DVDs within days of their release. Now I wait (rather impatiently) for the rest of South Park on DVD in complete seasons. It will be a cold day in Hell before I buy one of those themed discs.
I recently taped over the copy I made from Comedy Central - where I had carefully not recorded any commercials. Perhaps now, I can wait and not have to do that again. There aren't a whole lot more movies that I REALLY want but I'll be there when this one is released. OAR pleeeeease. =)

There is quite an interesting thread over at TF.N forum comparing visual similarities between the OT and the prequels. Worth a look, but beware of some minor spoilers for those that would rather do without. =)

No, with all of the events that are being talked about taking place in this film, I am optimistic that there will be something that most Star Wars fans will appreciate.

Jango Question: My question is a minor spoiler so I'll put it in a spoiler tag. :)
Since Boba is Jango's clone, is it likely that the voice of Jango will be the same as that of Boba in the OT?
Opinions or facts, lemme know what you think.

Whatever movie you pick, someone, somewhere, thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread. Opinions vary so much (even here) that it is always entertaining - most often more than the movie itself - to read the reviews and debates of them. Occasionally I have been duped into thinking a...
I'm just glad that I am ignorant and can't identify any of them by name or sight. Please stop posting pics of them, you could ruin certain scenes for me! ;)
I just saw this poll on StarWars.com. It took me a couple of seconds to realize the implication.

If I have to wait until 2006 (or thereabouts) to get the OT on DVD I will. I'm patient and I have the Def. Col. LD set. That should hold me until then. But, if in that anticipated 6-movie set, I don't get the original version at least by seamless branching I will be very very irritated...
One of the main reasons I got into Laser Discs years ago was the availability of letterboxed versions of movies. Now that I buy DVDs, it is true even more so. I'll wait until Hell freezes over before I purchase a non-OAR DVD movie on DVD. There are a few movies that I want (Happy Gilmore...
I find it amusing that all Star Wars discussions end up picking the films (and their not-so special editions) apart in one way or another. It is just my hope that with TPM, the quality of script has hit bottom. I mean really, could it get worse? - Don't answer that, it was retorical - We can...
To add to the great lists of others above, I might add the following:
The 13th Floor- kind of a "near future meets 1920s (30s?) thriller."
Then there is one of my favorite movies, The Blues Brothers. A comedy that has lots of great characters, cameos, a great car :) in great car chases...
I can't help but get on the soapbox about this one. Here is my review on IMDb.
: This "movie" totally blows
For as much money and time that was spent on producing this film, one would think that it could have had: (1) A decent story. (2) Awesome special effects. (3) Some semblance of...
I really don't mind most of the changes that Lucas has made to the OT. Most of the added/improved special effects add to the immersive quality of the films. However, that being said, I grew up with Star Wars and prefer to at least be able to see it the way I remember it. It was THESE movies...
No REAL spoilers here, just guidance with the direction the Star Wars saga will procede.
Some are using the term "Empire". All I can say is - NOT YET. Chancellor Palpatine has not yet become the Emperor in EpII. He is still building his power and influence over governments and organizations...
I miss the Eighties. Things seemed simpler then. Video games were more about skill that flashy graphics and movies were more about the plot than cool special effects - although there were some real dogs - does anyone remember Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone? Anyhow, I digress...
I agree that George has every right to alter the film that he created. I, however, will always think of Star Wars in the context of what I saw when I was seven years old. The only copy of Star Wars that I have purchased was the Star Wars Trilogy - The Definitive Collection Laser Disc Set...
Okay, eh. I agree with the rest of you hosers. This is on my list of WILL BUYS. If I can get this and Better Off Dead in the near future, I will be content for a while - until the Star Wars 6-pack is released in 2006. =)
