Just to give everyone an update. I received the Mel Brooks Collection as a gift for Christmas. My parents had purchased the set from Amazon and it has the non-anamorphic YF. I called Fox and the CSR was very nice and she put me on the list to get a replacement YF DVD from them as they currently...
Wow, lots of great suggestions out there (No Planes, Trains & Automobiles though? ;) ). We watched Pieces of April last night and I have to agree with everyone elses recommendation, it is an excellent movie. It will be on my Thanksgiving Day movie rotation from now on. Has anyone seen What's...
I did a quick search on this and saw a lot of lists for Christmas movies, but not for Thanksgiving. The only movies I can think of with Thanksgiving themes are A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, Dutch, and Planes, Trains & Automobiles. I was hoping someone could point me to some other good movies...
Thanks for all the replies. I was hoping Christmas Carol was at least open matte, but it appears not. Here's to hoping that Disney will someday get around to fixing this Christmas gem. Brian
I was at Disneyland this weekend and revisited Muppets 3D and it made me nostalgic for all things Muppets. Is the current version of the Muppets Christmas Carol open matte or is it truly P&S? Secondly, does anyone know if they are coming out with a SE of this, or at least a new version that is...
I have the current version and I would gladly double dip on this if they were to make a special edition with an anamorphic transfer and some documentary/features on the crew and history of the Belle.
Well Jeff to be even more blunt, its that attitude that ends up screwing the average consumer. We aren't talking about reviewing a product before buying it. Having to root around the internet to find the rumors (since even this hasn't been officially announced by Artisan) regarding upcoming...
I would agree that it appears that todays copyright law does not seem to promote creativity. By maintaining a short time frame for the monopoly, it was in the artists best financial interests to create as much content as possible with the patented idea. When that time frame is expanded, the need...
Yep, I had the same problem today. Went in at 11:30, tried to figure out where it was. Finally had to ask an employee where it was. He looks at me and says, "We're sold out." I asked him, "You sold out in a an hour and a half?" He replied, "Yes, we only got ONE copy." ONE COPY? That was it...
I received my new SVS a little over two weeks ago so I thought that I would take the time to give my opinions and overview of what its been like since it arrived. (Sorry, this is long, but it is somewhat humorous)
After picking it up from UPS (see note below), my friend and I set about in...
Well, from what I've read, they will refund your money if you ask for it. I believe a reason to sue them would be if they refused to refund your money and weren't shipping the product as well. Since they are offering you your money, I don't believe there are grounds for a law suit. Just my .02...
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but DVD Reviewer is reporting that while Our Man Flint is 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen, In Like Flint will be Full-Frame only. Modesty Blaze has also been listed as Full-Frame as well. I hope that they are wrong!
Ok, I did a search on this, but couldn't find anything. I've already opened my copy of NSNA (got it a year or two ago), could someone tell what I need to look for either on the disc/in the movie to tell if I have the good version (or the bad version)?
Thanks,
Brian
Yes, finally! I too wonder how they will be releasing them, picking up where the last disc left off or starting from the beginning again? Either way, I will pick these up when they hit the street!
Interestingly enough, when I went to Best But to pick up O-11 this morning, I noticed the store had about 2.5 times more shelf/cardboard holder space dedicated to the widescreen version. Hopefully Best Buy is trying to push the WS version more! Guess we'll have to wait and see what the weeks...

Hello,
I've been tinkering with my setup lately and have noticed threads that talk about setting the crossover frequency in the receivers setup. I've tried to find a place in the set up to specify the frequency where the cut off starts, but I haven't been able to find it. Does it actually...
I can see it now, instead of soldiers carrying rifles in Saving Private Ryan, we'll see platoons packing walkie-talkies and large ship-to-shore handsets.
Seriously though, if there isn't anything visually objectionable in the film I can see why people would perhaps like to tone down...
