You'll want to update your post. There is no 2.0 firmware for the Sony yet. The latest is 1.55.

Hold the Main and Exit buttons down for 10 seconds for factory reset.

Just get the Ultimate Edition. It's the same transfer.

I'd recommend the Panny for the long run if one had to choose from the current standalone players. If you just want to get your foot in the door get the Sammy. You can get one pretty cheap right now since the new model is around the corner(April).

I only have a few SB titles, but Desperado SB was a must for me. Huge improvement in picture quality(mostly due to the transfer).

Early PS2 quality at best.

I own both versions. Unless you get it really cheap, I don't think it's worth it. Not enough new content for me.
