    George Reeves' Superman on DVD

Michael Hayde can probably answer the "original edits" questions better than I can once he gets his copy. I only watched a few of them and I know that "Crime Wave" is original and I am guessing that "The Evil Three" is also. The scene with the old lady in the wheelchair getting shoved down into...

    George Reeves' Superman on DVD

The "Adventures of Superman" Season One contains all 26 1951 episodes along with the theatrical version of "Superman and the Mole Men." I watched some of the episodes and scanned others and, for the most part, these are the nicest prints of the show that I've ever seen. Great compressing...

    Godzilla Final Wars U.S. Release?

Toho is currently shopping for a U.S. distributor for Godzilla: Final Wars. Sony is in the running but it hasn't been picked up as yet. It was a fun movie, but some Godzilla purists don't like it. It was so unconventional and different that it worked for me. I saw it at the world premiere at...

    Godzilla Sequel? (MERGED THREAD)

New York will be featured in the (now in production) next (and last, for a while) Japanese Godzilla film, Godzilla: Final Wars. Back in 1999, plans for a TriStar Godzilla sequel were being made. It was not to be a direct sequel, but it would be a sequel as Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan was...

    Technical Question: Region 0 compatibility

Yesterday I picked up a Region 0 Godzilla X Mechagodzilla (2002) DVD. It'll play fine for a while on my region-free player, but then it starts to skip and freeze. But, it plays just fine on my old Region 1 RCA player. Why is it that a Region 0 DVD would play poorly on a region-free player but...

What would you all consider the "holy trilogies" of movies?

I'd include the Shusuke Kaneko Gamera films: Gamera, The Guardian of the Universe Gamera 2: Advent of Legion Gamera 3: The Revenge of Irys (or Iris)

    "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms"

I picked up "Beast" last night and watched it. It is a nicely done DVD ($14.99 at Best Buy) with good, sharp images. It also includes trailers this film and "Black Scorpion," "Clash of the Titans" and "Valley of Gwangi." Also, there's a clip of a discussion session with Ray Harryhausen and...

    The Outlaw Josey Wales

"Endeavor to persevere!" A friend rented a vintage old wagon to the movie company for the film. Unfortunately, he didn't get it back. It went up in flames during the massacre of the surrendering rebels by the Red Legs.

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: National Lampoon's Vacation - 20th Anniversary SE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I first saw National Lampoon's Vacation the day after I returned from several days of "road-tripping" around Arizona (Grand Canyon, Monument Valley), Colorado (Durango) and Utah (Zion National Park). I was definitely up for that movie. It's hard to believe it's been 20 years! Yeesh!
