Just wondering if someone can help in describing the different kinds of DVD packaging that DVD Profiler uses. They list the following: Keep Case, Snapper, Jewel Case, Clamshell, Drawer, Hub and Custom. My desciptions would be like this. Keep Case - The plastic cases that has become the...
I recently updated to the new version and I am experiencing one problem. I updated the Online Profile List when I wanted to add a new DVD. The file was around 2.25 MB, which for dial-up takes quite awhile. I need to update some of my images for some of my DVD's in my list and when I do...
I know that this may old news to some, but a local news channel had on a report about a service that will take either tape or DVD movies that you send in and make a copy on either tape or DVD that removes swear words, sex and violence.
One site says that they return the original DVD to you...
I was recently deleting DVD's from my wishlist and noticed something. The program does not automatically delete the corresponding images for the DVD you just deleted. You can verify this by looking up the DVD Profiler on your computer. Mine is under Program Files, then Intervocative...
Really great news. I am looking forward to Galactica, Sliders, Emergency and Earth:Final Conflict. What about Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules (With Kevin Sorbo)? They only released 2 discs of the live action series, what about the entire series?
I was thinking that the term "Full Screen" is sort of confusing. In regards to the term, it seems to indicate that with this version you get more. Full to some may indicate larger, bigger or more. Where as the term "Widescreen" may indicate to some that you need one of the new "Widescreen"...
I think you have to look at who shops at which stores. Wal-Mart & Target probably see's more families and J6P's. Since these people prefer full screen over widescreen that's why these stores prefer to carry more pan and scan versions. Where as Best Buy, Circuit City and other similar...
Fox 32 News here in Chicago a few weeks ago aired a little story on Disc Repair kits. The one they featured was called the Disc Doctor or something like that. It's green and black, comes in either hand powered or a higher priced electric model. What I remember from it is that you put the...
I think that Widescreen will win in the end. The main reason is HDTV(Widescreen TV's). Even though acceptance by the majority of consumers may take up to a decade, widescreen TV's will eventually become the norm for television sets. Hopefully this will happen sooner than later, but...
You can also buy replacement DVD cases at Wal-Mart. a 3 pack costs under $3.00. They should be in the Electronics Department. My Wal-Mart has them near the CD/DVD Cleaners, VCR Cleaners, Video-Tapes department. Hope this helps.

Just wondering if the dvd list is updated automatically on a regular basis, is it by computer or by a person. Every time since the 13th of this month, when I click on Add DVD to my wishlist from the toolbar it starts to connect to their website, then it checks the Profile list and other lists...
I am also in favor of including the teaser trailer on the dvd.
As others have said, it might be a good idea to include an introduction to the teaser, either in text or a visual intro by the director or somebody.
If it is on the dvd, it is always up to the viewer to click on the option to see...
Simon & Shuster will release a book & DVD called "What We Saw: The Events of Sept. 11 in Words, Pictures and Video" in August 2002.
Here is a link.

No details are listed about the DVD.
All I know is that the DVD is hosted by Dan...
I would guess they are going to be animated menus. I could not imagine them doing static menus on such a high-profiled title. If you look closely at the Spider-Man menu there are spider webs connected to the options. If you look closely at the Goblin menu, there are trusters at the bottom...
When I bought my copy of the first Pearl Harbor 2-disc set (Disney) from Best Buy it had a major defect. The picture turned into blocks and jumbled up during the dolittle raid, right when they start to bomb Japan. I went to Best Buy, told them the problem and all I had to do was fill in a...
If true, does that mean that current or future Ultimate Editions will become out of print also. I also wish that studios would announce when they are going to pull something from the market so that consumers have notice and therefore the ability to purchase them before they become out of...
I think it says that it will take 8 to 10 weeks to receive your rebate. On your question regrading the proof of purchase from the 1st release of Pearl Harbor, you either get a photo-copy of the back, or cut out the UPC Symbol (Something I wouldn't do) or the proof of purchase tab (This was a...
Just got the 2-disc version of Final Fantasy on DVD. (Because they are pulling it at the end of August).
Since it takes place in a future New York, does it have the WTC in it. I watched it and didn't see them.
If they are in it, can someone give an exact location (Time) that they appear, and...
I am looking for an up to date, complete list of dvd's that are discountinued or out of print. I tried the DVD review site, but their list hasn't been updated in a while. Just want to know what titles I have or want are discountinued and therefore hard to find. Thanks in advance.
When DVD was first developed, why didn't the different companies decide on one 'official' kind of case? It seems that right now most people prefer the plastic keep-cases. If this was first decided upon by all companies that keep cases would be the only official cases for all DVD's released...
Does anybody know if the Men in Black 2 DVD will include the original ending that featured the World Trade Center? Either in actual footage or in storyboard form? Or should not include the original ending? Personally I would like to see what the original ending was going to be. And I know...
I took a look at the pic of the DVD case, did anybody notice that it appears to be a paper case (like what Fox and Columbia has used for some of their releases). I thought that Paramount ONLY uses the Plastic Keep cases. Wouldn't this be a departure for them to use a cardboard case?
Just got the set yesterday. I also hate that the discs are in those paper sleeves. They were in very tight and just to get them out I had to turn the whole thing upside down and jiggle them out. Luckily I don't have kids, I could imagine what a child would do to get them out. I would...
Will the 2-disc sets that 20th Century Fox and Columbia/ Tri-Star still be available for sale after the 1-disc or pan/scan versions are released? Like Sound of Music, Final Fantasy etc. Both of these studios should continue to offer them for sale for those consumers who maybe just getting...
A while ago I bought one of those DVD cleaner kits from Maxwell, it had some cleaning pads, a base for the DVD and cleaning fluid (Isopropyl Alcohol) something like 1.5 oz. of that. Bought it at Wal-Mart for about $9.00 Works pretty well. However what I did was to buy a container of...
Did a search for "World Trade Center" at DVD Empire for Titles and Descriptions and came up with 3 titles.
America 911 - Spectrum Video - 67 minutes - Now on DVD
World Trade Center:A Modern Marvel - A&E - 55 Minutes Now on DVD
WTC: The First 24 Hours - New Video - 48 Minutes 6-25-2002...
According to the following site, when the new Scooby-Doo movie comes out on DVD it will not include 15-20 minutes of deleted scenes because these were cut from the film so that it could be rated PG instead of PG-13. Mostly some lesbian overtones between two main characters.
They won't be on...
