The music I mentioned is from the Song for the Unification of Europe which is from the film Three Colors: Blue. Blue is of course, a meditation on....liberty. It's one of my favorite films so I was delighted to see it paid homage to. :)
Loved the premiere and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. Did anyone else recognize the music Walter was thinking of in the interrogation room?
Nice to see Kaurismaki getting more region one recognition even though the LC films aren't his best. (Meet Moses really is awful unless it's a sly parody of bad sequels!) I would have picked these up to support Criterion but as money is short and I have the R2 set I just couldn't do it...
A Chemical Skyline - Homemade short finds a group of friends trapped in the countryside during a zombie outbreak. Not bad of its type, with an ending that ties it to Night of the Living Dead. R1 DVD.

I wouldn't even call them "B" movies. Armageddon is little better than claptrap like Megalodon Vs. Giant Tarantula (or whatever). And there are just too many cooks on many of these movies, too many people with input and it ultimately leads to a much less cohesive "product." There's something...
To answer some of the above questions: Comics spoilers: Andrea shot Amy in the head right after she died so she wouldn't come back. The survivors did pack up and leave soon after the attack that killed Amy.
You guys are probably right about the spoiler boxes - someone is bound to check out that info and then get upset. One final spoiler regarding a post above: I hated seeing Tyrese go out that way too. As a matter of fact I think his death bothered me more than Lori's! The governor...
True, but that was a low budget horror adaptation of a Stephen King story. Robert Kirkman isn't a household name and this is a tv series. Probably a lot more money men involved in TWD. Still, it might happen. I would be surprised if they film the scene where the two little girls are...
I was thinking the same thing, though I imagine casual viewers may be turned off after seeing Rick's wife and her baby get gunned down. One of the saddest and most shocking moments in the comics. I hope they go back to Duane and Morgan too, as they did eventually do in the comics. Poor...
To answer Joe's question, Rick may not have been completely out of gas when he went to the gas station. Patrick: there really isn't much of what you describe in the books. Rick finds his family in the first few issues (or, as it looks like, the next episode of the show) and the triangle...
Micmacs *** Inventive, cartoonish tale of an oddball loner who plots the downfall of the weapons manufacturers indirectly responsible for the death of his father and the bullet lodged in his brain. But he can't do it without the help of his newfound misfit friends! Charming and brimming...
Gary, you're welcome! And I am looking forward to Deadlands 3!
Ain't this shit supposed to be green?
Evilution - An alien bacterium spawns zombies and mediocrity in this forgettable horror outing that involves army soldiers and tenement dwellers battling the undead. But hey, if you like...
Mommy Doesn't Feel Good - Unnerving short about a newly-divorced mother who comes home from her hospital job feeling a bit....unwell. Her two children sense that something isn't quite right with her. Pretty accomplished for a first-time effort, with darkly comic homages to Night of the Living...
Yeah, that's pretty much the conclusion I've come to. She obviously doesn't want to give me any of the money so my only recourse is to try to get a settlement out of her somehow. But with her being a single mom with two kids and me a single guy back living with his mom, that would just make me...
Guess I'm fortunate that my two beagles are surprisingly quiet...except when they happen upon a rabbit that has stupidly strayed into our yard. Unfortunately this usually happens late at night after I've let them out to do their buisness. Nothing like trying to corral two excited hounds in...
Well, as I said, I did consult a tax attorney and he said I basically have no choice but to file as married but separate. According to him, neither one of us qualifies to file as head of household but I can't file jointly if she's already filed hoh so I'm pretty much screwed. I'll admit...
That's my point - we did live together for more than six months: married March 6th (lived and paid bills together for a month before that) and I moved out the last week of October. I have consulted a tax attorney (to the tune of ninety bucks) and he agreed with me that she filed wrong. Now...
