Time to replace Pioneer SD-533HD5 RPTV?

Thanks! Gives me something new to consider. Do you know if these DLP projectors suffer from the Rainbow Effect? I am susceptible to it unfortunately.

I have considered it, but don't have as much experience in projection versus a single display. Do you recommend a particular brand or type?

Time to replace Pioneer SD-533HD5 RPTV?

Hello all. I have been off these forums for years after implementing a professionally calibrated Pioneer SD-533HD5 as the centerpiece of my home theater. I have held off about as long as I can to update to something thinner with a larger screen, higher resolution, and with the ability to connect...

Star Wars in HD on Cinemax

Was wondering if anyone who has cinemax was able to check out the SW marathon this weekend and how the transfer looks compared to the DVDs. Especially if the errors in the special editions were fixed such as the swapped surrounds in ANH and the lightsabers in ROTJ.

Star Wars discussion from The Bits...

After thinking this over on what us fans can do, I think the only thing we can do is be patient. Lucas knows how to market things and I believe that he will eventually put the originals out the way the fans want. He just likes to make us think when he finally does it, he's doing us a favor...

    DVD Audio Bass

Well, shoot. I was afraid that was going to be the answer. I wish I could just play the Dolby Digital track, but I can't even access it on my player. I can only reach it on a non-DVD-Audio player. Thanks for the help, guys. Hope I can return the favor sometime.

    DVD Audio Bass

That looks like what I may need, but gee whiz. I'd hate to think I got this nice new player and to get it to work right, I need to spend more money. From what I have described, does this sound like bass management may be my problem or does it sound like the player is not performing correctly

    DVD Audio Bass

But when I calibrated in the player, I could not get the bass to come up more than 6 dB. It is still very low. Switching to Pro-Logic and the digital feed via coaxial connection yields significantly more bass. It is when I bypass the receiver settings that my bass is low. I plugged Video...

    DVD Audio Bass

I have a Yamaha 595a receiver and a Panasonic RP91 DVD-Audio player. I hooked up the 5.1 to the receiver to receive the surround sound from the first DVD audio title (Shania UP) and was suprised to hear little to no bass from my properly calibrated system (video essentials). Is there...

Been out of the loop for a while.....Need a new DVD Player

I would like to know which players, besides the RP91 upscale non-anamorphic DVDs. I have a Pioneer SD533 that zooms nonanamorphic movies (scan lines are slightly more visible over anamorphic) and would like a scaling player.

Ghosts (ringing) on 57HX81. Anyone know how to exorcise them?

I have noticed a ghost image to the right side of distinct edges that looks like the sharpness is too high. However, with SVM off and sharpness at zero, I am still experiencing them through transparent component cables on DVDs like Gladiator and Superman. Is there some sort of ISF tweak or...
