    3D Shout Factory's METALSTORM - in Depth

The good: It's a very clean transfer, even with the over and under 3-D source limitations. $$ was clearly spent. Likewise for a very nice 3D menu and 2D making of short, which itself is entertaining and for the most part, very well done. Metalstorm is offered as a two disc release, with the 2D...

Cannot upload pic in a given thread.

I've tried numerous times and using different web browsers to post an image in a given thread, but I get an exceeded disc space notice. But when I do a test in this section, it is fine, as can be seen below. Has anyone else had this problem?

3D Jurassic Park in IMAX 3-D / Bluray version out soon

Over the weekend I was able to check out the Jurassic Park re-release in IMAX 3-D. And to my pleasant surprise it was one of the best 2D to 3-D conversions I've seen to date. This is not a knock on the much praised "Titanic" conversion, as StereoD also helped with that conversion as well...

    3D WW ll in 3-D

Hi Steve, If time permits, try giving this disc another spin. I wonder if the 3-D function was inadvertantly shut off or in a wrong mode the first time around. I found this feature to have a healthy dose of parallax, more so than many of the recent wave of 3-D features. I've attached a...

    TNT "Stretches" for HDTV

An interesting article on TNT's controversial altering of 4:3 content to 16x9 for their high def channel. Twisted aspect ratios aside, their SD to HD resolution upconversion process may merit further investigation. http://tvweek.com/page.cms?pageId=468

    Spy Kids 3D .. in Field-Sequential 3-D!

...Somebody pinch me! For the first time ever in the United States, an A-List Hollywood feature has been released in the field-sequential 3-D video format. ..It's not another 3-D bootleg .. nor a low budget skin flick.. nor is it an obscure large format 3-D film.. This is a true high dollar...

    Low Cost DVD-R discs?

I know Office Depot recently had a sale on Verbatum DVD-Rs, but the occasional sale aside, does anyone have any tips on where to buy brand name DVD-R blanks (Maxell, Verbatum etc..) at a somewhat decent price?

External DVD with PC firewire support?

Are there any DVD burners that have a firewire jack that could interface with a PC? This way I could burn my own DVD-Rs (or DVD+RWs) right out of the box using the analog inputs, but I could also back up or transport PC files through the firewire jack. ..Or I could produce more...

It Came from Outer Space Review

http://www.dvdfile.com/software/revi...uterspace.html While I'm still very disappointed the original 3-D version wasn't included (an out an out waste of the DVD format by not including both versions on this disc) it is nice to see the original PR was in error and the original 3-channel...

WSR Reviews 5th Element Superbit DVD

http://www.widescreenreview.com/newr...thelement.html It's worth a read, VERY interesting comments on both the video and audio. Like the previous Warner Brother DD/DTS DVDs, the Dolby Digital dial norm setting is at the -31 (defeat) position, so both DTS and Dolby Digital tracks should be...
