Just bought this title on Amazon's buy 1 get 1 free deal and I had the same problem. Only workaround I've found is to use the 'Go To' function and select Title 5 or 6 (trailer and doc) and hit the Audio button to bring up the commentary.
I found this today: http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=SON056779 It looks like it's in stock but has the original cover. Is this the same thing as the one that will be released on Nov. 7th?
Agreed! However, if I send my Samsung a 720p signal, I can choose the 'Expand' setting which gives what I believe is called 1:1 pixel mapping (might have the term wrong). For me, it means overscan is reduced almost to zero. Also, it's so obviously poo-poo when you're watching HD-DVD at 720p that...
This is certainly true with HD-DVD titles, but not so of SD-DVD upconverted discs. I notice no difference in upconverted quality with either 720p or 1080i on my Samsung HLP-5085. Calibrations with Avia are the same at either output. I have been trying to get people to do a little A/B comparison...
Guys, I have an audio sync question. On disc 1 starting around chapter 11 the video is ahead of the audio by 10-15 sec. (Rose hits a line drive to Evans) It lasts for 3 chapters and things seem to go back to normal at chapter 14. Could someone please check this on their copy? This is the only...
I believe that everything on Disc 1 of the Image set is on the 35th Anniversary set. Only Disc 2 of the Image set contains the extras not included elsewhere.
Hopefully this hasn't been stated before, but I found an Easter Egg on the Conquest disc. Go to Special Features, then to Main, then hit up and an ape head will be highlighted. Not very long, but nice to find. My apologies if this is old news.
I did the Radio Shack 4" cooling fan(kind of heavy compared to pc fans)and their generic power cord (120v?). You can also rip up any extension cord and connect it to the fan. I just twisted the wires together and used plenty of electrical tape. Tested it on a power strip with a breaker first so...
OK, after pulling my hair out and reading an endless thread over at AVS forum, I got an answer to my question. You must choose either 2 Large or 2 Small for surround back speaker setup in order to get all of the processing options on both THX and Standard. If you choose only 1 back speaker(like...
Fellow 2600 users, I'm trying to do something suggested in another post and am stumped. I'm trying to enable Dpl IIx(Movie) while a 5.1 signal is playing. It looks in the manual that this is possible but nothing I do works except to send the audio as PCM instead of Dolby Digital. Been reading...
I've had the 2600 for about a month now and really like it. Bought it at Ultimate in St. Paul and while more $$ than internet, they gave me 3yr. no interest. Had to take that deal! It does run hot, however, and I might get one of those whisper fans mentioned earlier. Subscibed to XM too and have...
I thought the first commentary by Kim Manners was horrible. Maybe the worst I've heard. Tons of dead air. The 2nd with Chris Carter was much better, however. Those are the only 2 I've listened to so far.
2-hour movie, $13 price = $6.50 per hour. 18 hours (26 42-minute episode) of TV, $100 price = $5.50 per hour. Reading 14 messages about how to get the most out of your Star Trek dollar: Priceless
On a related note, I daisy-chained 2 cx-400's with the s-link connection. I found that if I used the artist mode(which is very nice) that periodically many of the discs in one of the players would switch artists. The only way to get them back was to reenter the info. This continued to happen...
Steve,
I did the return thing as well until I found something I liked. Just make sure to use a calibration disc to get the settings correct. They will change quite a bit from interlaced settings(at least mine did). The general opinion is that Flash Focus doesn't work well, especially if you...
Steve, I am using the progressive output of the Panasonic CP-67. I was able to get the black level set correctly (although it was still tricky) and it had the features I wanted. I'm not sold on DVD audio so this is really the only thing it's lacking. I will say the difference is not huge...
Hello,
Try these 2 links for some of the players I tested and, of course, do a search for HS10 in this forum.

For the rx-v1200 the L/R Balance control can sort of act like a level control. I found out my Polks, for whatever reason, did not have the same volume output level. It was about 1.5db off between left and right, so I used the balance control to even them out then calibrated the rest of the...
"I wish The Arena was on dvd." It is. Full frame only and a less than stellar transfer. It came out with a bunch of other Roger Corman titles. The good thing is it's cheap and you can still see all of the actor's breast(plates). Dave
The wonderful St. Paul Public Library system has the entire box set available individually. They're free and you can check them out over and over again! At least till you find them for sale. Dave
Going from an interlaced Sony player to a progressive Panasonic caused big changes for me, mainly with brightness. It increased significantly. Even geometry was slightly different. I still use the Sony sometimes too so this isn't ideal. I have different video settings for both players but am...
First of all, I realize the answer to my question will be: "Use whatever looks good to you", but here it is anyway: As I understand it, one of the main considerations with progressive players is how they handle the difference between video and film frame rates. Since I have both interlaced and...

I'm not sure about using more than 1 video output at the same time on the Panny. I've just used the component out.
