Rosebud is indeed a curiousity...but not uninteresting. John V. Lindsay did better playing Mayor Lindseed on the Batman series. It has an amazing cast. Catrall and Huppert were very young. But theres also Brigitte Ariel who played Edith Piaf in Piaf The Early Years a year before Rodsebud and...
Scorpion Releasing...thru Kino...has gone a great job with 1978s long neglected A Different Story. Looks beautiful. Still a quirky delight over 40 years later. As an added bonus...Im excited about 2 Universal trailers...one from the 70s and the other from the 80s..of 2 films most people here...
Raid On Rommel looks like it may be the 70s war film they are releasing. Hopefully though it may be Limbo ...in the loosest sense a war film or the tv film The Execution of Private Slovak

Tubi TV has a very nice print of Cattle Annie and Little Britches( released in NYC for a minute with very muted newspaper ads in May 1981) and surprisingly opens up with a Warner Brothers logo...not Universal or MGM .
Tubi TV us a great source for 70s and 80s films all nicely presented
As was I. Its probably controlled by American Zoetrope which has an output deal with Lionsgate( and a good reason why we habent gotten One From the Heart or the underrated The Escape Artist).
I do believe...or at least I want to...that Kino may have leased a few non genre Paramount films and put them out in their Shout Select line ( as they have done with Universal ie The Front Page and others) . This may be the only way we can see Looking For Mr. Goodbar; Ordinary People; The Day of...
Excellent news! This is a well crafted, small gem with a nice Dick Van Dyke performance-his last in a leading role. Maybe Kinos release of Scavenger Hunt a couple of years back was a precursor to a Kino deal with Melvin Simon pictures? Was The Manitou through a Studio Canal deal or Melvin Simon...
Columbia Pictures released Richerts other 1979 film The American Success Company...also starring Jeff Bridges...to even more disastruous boxoffice results than Winter Kills. Both films were rereleased in 1983 after Richert took them over . Winter Kills was re edited and that is the version...
One of the greatest westerns ever. Kino is exactly the company that will do it justice. Wonder if they got this thru their Universal deal( which released it...horrendously..in 1981) or MGM( it was a Hemdale produced film)?
