Amazon Japan are the best... they tend to discount a lot more than your average Japanese store and their shipping is very reasonable. Also, they do have instructions for setting up your account in English. If the thought of navigating a Japanese language website is a bit daunting and you...

Thanks Shane. I will bear all of that in mind. I am hoping that my brother in law may be able to help me get over a few of those hurdles, but if not it may have to be cash. I did notice that a couple of places did have B&M locations (in the Akihabara area), so with a little luck I might be able...
Shane, what did you pay for your AE900 in Japan (I assume yours is the TH AE900)? I am going over in April (for one month) and plan to purchase the Panasonic while there. The best price I have been able to find is approx 149,000 yen via a site called Kakaku.com that searches out all best...
Peter... it certainly makes me think that after receiving my email, they have mistakenly viewed disc #1 of the standard edition as opposed to the special limited edition... and that standard edition no doubt does display in the correct aspect ratio. I have also just now after much googling...
Peter... I had a response from DVDfromKorea in which they say they have watched the DVD and that the copy they watched is 16:9 Anamorphic Widescreen - this is the jist of that response:
I know their intentions are good and I will put their suggestions for checking the anamorphic widescreen to...
Anyone who has ordered the Korean Limited Edition may want to read this... but be warned, it is NOT pleasant! I received my copy yesterday and despite the cover stating that this is "16:9 Anamorphic Widescreen", the feature is actually in 4:3 Full Screen mode!! I hope that someone will prove...

My Edko version arrived today (from Layoyo.com) - it has both DD5.1 and DTS audio and is anamorphic. No chance to watch it yet, so I cannot report on image quality.

Actually, your player IS a region-free player in the sense that it will play discs that are designated Region Free as opposed to Region 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. If a disc is "Region Free" it has no region coding and will therefore play on any DVD player anywhere in the world...
It looks like Amazon Japan have now upped their price on the Premium Box Set as it is now listed with a price of 7,980 yen (so far, my purchase price of 6,080 yen still stands and hopefully they won't try to change it).
The Japanese online store prices (with links) on the Kill Bill Vol 2 Premium Box Set are: Amazon Japan - 6,080 yen (it looks as though Amazon may now remove the tax from foreign orders as this shows at 6,384 yen on the item's page, but 6,080 in my order - so, this is a done deal) HMV -...
And what about O Lucky Man? I seem to recall (a year or so ago) that Anchor Bay was meant to be releasing this, but have since heard nothing more. Anyone have any knowledge of its current status?
200 Motels - Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Wise Blood - John Huston. Original Astro Boy (entire) series in original Japanese language with English subtitles. All Godzilla and related Toho films (such as Baragon vs Frankenstein, Destroy All Monsters etc) in original Japanese...
Beats me why they couldn't have just released the tins in December in a limited run of the numbers previously settled on, and then at a later date released an unlimited run in a regular case.
Alien (first in series) The Ring (Japanese, NOT Hollyweird) A Nightmare on Elm Street (first in series) Psycho (original, NOT remake) The Shining (with Jack Nicholson) Repulsion Dark Waters Scanners Patrick The Thing (John Carpenter's version)
As long as you are able to find your way around, Amazon Japan is the best as they offer reasonable discounts. CD-Japan are not too bad, but unfortunately can be a bit more pricey than Amazon.
