Jeff, Go the main menu, then inputs and at inputs for your where you have the HD-A1 assigned to, find main advanced, and in the main advanced section you turn "analog bypass" OFF. The MC-8 will now redigitize the analog signal from the HD-A1 and you can use any of the 5.1a modes. Let me know...
Harvey, Welcome! I have a Lexicon MC-12. In the HD-A1 setup I leave all the speakers set to large, channel levels and speaker levels at 0. I then use the 5.1a Film mode of the Lex. This way I can use the better bass management of the Lex and also have the use of Logic7. I have also tried...
Well after reading how happy Ron was with the HD-A1 on his older CRT with component cables ( I know he has since bought a new 1080P set with HDMI input) I was dying to try one on my 6 year old, ISF calibrated Pioneer PRO-510HD CRT RPTV. Well I finally bought a Toshiba HD-D1(all black model)...
Nice review Ron. I have been fighting the itch to get a HD DVD player and reading your review does'nt help!. I have a 6 year old Pioneer Pro-510 HD RPTV that has been ISF calibrated every two years and am very curious to see how a HD DVD would look on it.
Ronald, Thanks for the reply. My processor has 8 analog audio input connectors. I assigned the SkiFi receiver to input #2.Tried another input but had same issue. On the XM411 forum I found someone had this same problem, but his problem was cured when he realized he needed to push the plugs...
Hoping that Ron or someone else can help me. I just bought the SkyFi receiver yesterday along with the car and home adaptor kits. I was very disappointed when I hooked up the home kit to my Lexicon MC-12 to hear a loud hum through my speakers. The L/R plugs are pushed in all the way. I just...
Just got back from seeing ROTK and loved it. I am hoping someone can explain to me where Gandalf and Frodo were going with the elves and Bilbo Baggins at the end of the movie?
Vincent, Have only had my DVD-2200 for a couple of weeks now, but so far for I am very happy with both the audio and video. This is my first universal player and I am enjoying DVD-A and SA-CD. At its price point I think its a great player.
Ian, Thats it.In the speaker configuration section any speaker you select as small will have a 80Hz crossover point. If you want selectable crossover points you have to move up to the DVD-5900. Andy
Ian J, go to the "audio setup" and move down to "audio channel" next move the cursor the right to select "multi channel or "2 channel" when you select one of these and press the "enter" button the speaker setup menu will appear and you can set up the bass management. Hope this helps, Andy
David, I am more than happy with the MC-12s 2 channel performance. Some people seem to have issues with Lexicon and 2 channel, especially with their older processors. My only experience is with the MC-12 and I think it sounds great.
Hi David, I have the MC-12B and no the sub(s)can not be used in 2 channel bypass mode. This is a feature I wish it did have and made the request for this feature to Lexicon when I bought it last year. I must tell you though that in the time I have had my MC-12B I have found myself listening...
Gordon, I used to own the 4800 also and had the same problem you are describing. This is a known problem at Denon. The circuit that mutes the sub when you change inputs is bad and will need to be sent to Denon for repair.
I have been following this thread with interest because I have an MC-12B and have dipoles for my side surrounds and direct radiators in the back. Thanks Philip and Shawn for sharing your Lexicon expertise. I will play with bumping the sides up 2 dbs. Kevin McCurdy and John-Tompkins as you can...
Studio 100s,Studio CC,Studio ADPs, Studio 20s,2 Servo-15s and a SVS Ultra powered by a Bryston 6BSST and Rotel RMB-1095. Processor is a Lexicon MC-12B.
Levesque, While I borrowed the 4BST the 1095 was still hooked to my center channel and to my ears everything sounded fine. IMHO though I do think my front sound stage sounds better with the matching amplification to the 100s and CC. As I said I still use the 1095 for my 4 surrounds and I...
Levesque, I also have the Studio 100s and had them with the Rotel RMB 1090 for a year. Last month the power switch started to act up, so my dealer let me borrow a bryston 4BST while the 1090 was being repaired. I like the way both amps sound with these speakers. I can't honestly tell you I...
Ted, I have owned the Studio 100s for 2 years and I love them. If you like the sound of them more than anything else you have listened to and can swing the $1300 then get them. As already stated here, you will enjoy them with your receiver, but you will realize their full potential with a...
Just sent sent my contribution via Pay Pal. My thanks to Ron and Parker and all the moderators for all the work involved with keeping my favorite website going!
Edwin, Here is my opinion for what it is worth. I have a SVS Ultra that I love and I have steered 2 friends into getting SVS subs. I have another friend that I helped with his HT purchases, and he decided to get the BPS-400. (Only paid $500 for it) All I can say is that I think the BPS-400...
Daryl, You have a great receiver there. Enjoy it. I had mine for 2 1/2 years and was very pleased with it. I just made the jump to seperates a couple of weeks ago, so I will be selling mine.
Chrisden, Audio Buys did not carry Paradigm speakers until a few months ago. I got my Rotel amp and the speakers from Audio Video Solutions in Laurel Md. At the time they were the closest place to get Paradigm speakers. I have bought all my A/V gear from them. I met a salesman there that I...
Chrisden, I am using a Denon AVR-4800 and a Rotel RB-1090 amp. I never have used the 4800 to drive my studio 100s. I added the amp the day I bought the 100s, almost 2 years ago.
