Sounds like I should pick up a pair of R1s from BB and try it out. I just wanted to make sure that using a bi-pole on a rear wall directly above the seating area wasn't a "no-no" before I went through the effort. Thanks, Josh
I currently have JBL Studio Series for front/center/rear. I've replaced the fronts with Athena AS-F2s and am trying to decide the best way to go for the rear speakers. My room is 14x13. The seating is directly against the rear wall. I currently have S26s mounted on the rear wall with some...
I've had two of these units from eCost now, and they've both been horrible performers. There's an overly high green tint and some serious artifacting problems as well as a lack of sharpness. I had high hopes for this unit, but it's a big disappointment.
Just an FYI... I've now gotten TWO of these refurbs from eCost.com and they've both had the same problem. There's something wrong with the green channel, where many things are overly green, and many things seem to saturate which causes bad pixelization (looks like decoding errors, actually).
No kidding. I was absolutely FLOORED at the amount of money they were spending for these weddings. Good God, our entire wedding cost less than some of these girls' dresses... and we (and our guests) had a great time. :)
I thought this was the best episode of ER that I have seen in a long time. It will keep me watching what I considered to be an "ailing series" a bit longer.
As a huge fan of Memento, I loved the format. I enjoy the challenge of piecing the threads together rather than sitting and watching...
Bob... I got your email and composed a reply, but my email to you kept getting returned as "user unknown".
Anyway, here's what I typed. Hope it helps!
Hi Bob,
To answer your question quickly, yes! They work exactly in the way that you are describing. There is a thin bracket that gets mounted...
I debated this for a long time. Here's what I ended up with:

Definitely sturdy enough, and not bad looking.

I'll keep this up for a while, unless I run into bandwidth issues.

Can anyone recommend a set of suitable speaker stands to hold the 10" x 10" 22lb JBL S26?
I need a height of 48 - 60".
My concern is that to find stands that will hold these speakers, I'll have to spend quite a bit. Since these are for a temporary situation, I'd rather not spend a lot...
Based on my previous views of the 50H80 and the high opinions of the new xxH81's from this forum and others, I have been preparing for a purchase of a 57H81 in the next month or so.
I went to Best Buy (yes, I know) this weekend to get a first-hand look at the new set, and I must say that I was...
Deane,
I just wanted to jump in here and say thanks... this has been very helpful info for me, too. We're building a house, and have decided to convert the living room (which we'd otherwise never use) to a media / theater room. Now I know exactly what I need to get to cover the big windows! I...

Thanks for the info, but I'm not going to purchase a 300+ pound television at anything other than a B&M. *IF* something is wrong and the set needs to be returned or exchanged, there goes your savings.

I agree, a point which I aknowledged in my first post...
I wouldn't say that $2850 is such a great deal.
I found it online a few weeks ago for about $2300 shipped.
Granted, you could probably expect to pay a bit more if you want to purchase from a B&M, but $2850 seems a little excessive.
Here is the 65H80 for $2650...
Don't be too hard on the newbie questions here...
I've been inclined to build a DIY sub for a few months now, and I've been slowly gathering info.
This thread struck out at me because I think Rob Lloyd and I are looking for the nearly the same thing.
I started looking at the Shiva...
