Here's the weird part: pre-order DVE with either King Kong or The Grinch and shipping is close to $10. But if I pre-order DVE with 12 Monkeys, shipping is close to $6. WEIRD! Anyway, thanks. I pre-order DVE and 12 Monkeys! :)
Seems that SMR found the answer to a similar problem: "On a MC-4/8 you have NO processing what so ever on a 5.1 analog input. No bass management, no vocal enhance...etc..etc. On a MC-12 all that is available if you redigitize the 5.1 analog input. "...
Hi Harvey, I would copy'n'paste your 9/20/06 08:33 AM post at SMR. That is an excellent piece of information for the guru's there! I'm glad to be of help and keep me posted regarding the progress! Mark PS. you will LOVE SMR. They can and will any Lexicon question.
Hi Harvey, It seems that you're almost done. To be honest, I don't know if this is a bug in the MC-8 software or expected behavior. You are using the correct 5.1 inputs and are following the correct procedures. I really learned a lot from the Lexicon guys at SMR Forums. My suggestion...
It helps that I'm still at work and have some time on my hands to browse this forum (and AVS, SMR!) I think that the only thing missing here is to obtain the correct levels through the 5.1 analog input. The only way to do that, is using a SPL and any DVD that provide a test tone. I am using...
Good! I'm glad I have the basic setup thought out well before even receiving my HD A1! :) It seems more complicated than that it actually is! On a side note (Andy), what is your opinion about TrueHD/DD+ vs regular DD/DTS?
Harvey, A lot of questions! Unfortunately I can not help you with all of them at the moment. I own a Lexicon MC12 and I ordered the Toshiba HD A1 (I'm skipping the A2 because it doesn't have 5.1a out!). But a couple of questions/remarks: 1. Did you calibrate your system using a SD DVD...
I'm not sure how your Kenwood works, but with the Lexicon, you can use Logic 7 to create a 5.1 sound field. DPLIIx should also work (if your Kenwood supports that).
Hi Harvey, Welcome to this forum. May I suggest SMR Forum, where you can find a lot of Lexicon knowledge? Here's a good one: http://www.smr-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=24&PN=4
I've been a KEF fan since quite a while. My first Uni-Q speakers where the Q80, replaced by the Q90 which I replaced by Reference Model Two's (which are now my side speakers). That's only for the main speakers... This is my current speaker setup: Main: Kef Reference Model Three (also owned...
Well... I liked it too! :emoji_thumbsup: A lot of action, Kurt Russel and Courtney Cox: what more do you want?
Of course the story sucked but haven't we heard that before?
I think it matters whether you have an excellent to high-end setup or not: if you have a 40" screen or lower, the video differences aren't that obvious and IMO you need a high quality DD/DTS setup to hear the higher bitrate...
"A sweeping comment, as you made...."plainly impossible" should NOT be made on a discussion board like HTF. It is your opinion, my friend...nothing more. Is is VERY possible for the flagship receivers that are available now days to perform at or...
Here's the fine print from costco:
The free Disney DVD will be shipped to you along with Walt
Disney's Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs DVD Platinum Edition.
:)
I've read this whole thread and I would like to add my findings. I've upgraded from a Marantz AV-600 pre to a loaded Lexicon DC-1 (now v4.0). Before upgrading, I've tried both Denon's and Onkyo's flagship receivers.
Anyone who claims that either Denon's or Onkyo's are better in any aspect...
This question has been asked multiple times.
Although some receivers DO give the option for one rear, THX specifically states TWO rears since there's some correlation processing.
If you're a touchscreen freak the Pronto is fine but if not (like me) I would go for the Marantz RC2000mkII. Personally I rather 'feel' a button when watching a movie/TV instead of searching for the touch screen buttons not mentioning if you're fingers are dirty (party)!
