    Sonosub Orientation?

More than likely, I will be going with a sealed enclosure, although I won't know exactly until I figure out what drivers I'm going to be using. If I went with a ported enclosure, couldn't I exit the port out of the same end as the driver? That way, I could still butt up the "bottom" ends of the...

    Sonosub Orientation?

I didn't know whether I needed to isolate each driver in their own chamber. I would think that if the two drivers share the same chamber (entire tube), and were firing in opposite directions (thus the magnets facing each other), then there might be some concern with cancellation inside the chamber.

    Sonosub Orientation?

My plan was to do two seperate enclosures either by creating a seperation in the middle of the tube or by cutting the tube into two equal sections. Either way, when they are complete, it would look like one long tube, but with a driver at either end.

    Sonosub Orientation?

One last question...I was thinking about the possibility of doing a dual-sub configuration. My idea was to basically build two seperate sub enclosures out of one tube, with the subs firing in opposite directions. Is this advisable or should I just stick to a single driver?

    Sonosub Orientation?

I'm thinking about building a Sonosub and was wondering if the tube's orientation (vertical or horizontal) made any difference, performace-wise? I'm wanting to lay it horizontally across my screenwall on my proscenium. I have about 2' of depth and the screenwall is about 8'. I haven't really...

Ok need some help: Cue Cat

Here's what I would do. First, if you haven't already, go get Catnip and install it. Then follow the setup directions inside this thread. Make sure to read the part posted by "Miss Movie Diva", as it explains how to set up Catnip for DVDP. Hope that helps you out.

    HTPC playback problem

Have you tried running Powerstrip? While 720x480 SHOULD be a fairly standard resolution, the video card might have a small problem in reproducing this resolution and still maintaining position. I would try downloading Powerstrip and change the backdoor and frontdoor settings to get your image...

My budget theater website up "Jones Theater" now open.

Nice looking theater, Eric. My recently "nearly completed" theater was done for around $2500, not counting A/V equipment, but included a myHDTV tuner card for my HTPC. I still have to finish the ceiling inserts and put in the fiber optic stars along with cabinet doors across the back wall. I...

    My new theater...The Escape (pics)

Sorry I haven't been in here in a while. Let me first give thanks to everyone who's commented on the theater. Now, I'll answer some of the questions. Gary R, the insert is actually a separate inlay that I made from scratch. It was originally a Microsoft Publisher clipart file that I plotted...

    anyone installed square carpet tiles?

It's too bad you're not in my area...a local liquidator has gobs of 18" and 20" squares for $0.99 each. I used these not only on the floor, but on the bottom section of the wall. Check out my signature for pictures of the room. The ones that they have here are rubber backed and do not need to be...

    My new theater...The Escape (pics)

It's actually a freshwater tank. I wish I had the time (and money) to have a saltwater tank. I've wanted to build in an aquarium for quite a while, but never had a place to do it. When the thought of building a home theater in the basement started to come about, I thought that it would be way...

I'd like to thank everyone for the compliments on my theater. It's been a labor of love for me over the past few years and I'm just now able to have it come to fruition. Jack, the carpet inset is one the pieces that I'm most proud of (along with the DVD storage cabinets/movie posters). The...

Galactically Stupid statement for BB salesman

It may not be the nicest thing to do, but I love to go into places like that and play stupid when a salesperson comes up to assist me. I ask loaded questions that increasingly get more technical to prove or disprove the salesperson's merit. I love asking a question that I know the person can't...
