This is exactly what I disliked the most about this movie. Like you, I was OK with what felt like reduced screentime for the Transformers in the forst movie, because I figured it was the "origin" movie and they wanted to use the human characters to anchor it, and build the robot story around...
I have no idea why you think I am presenting facts. It's my opinion. I am not going to put "IMO" after every opinion, I thought that goes without saying. What is a fact is that Charles S set up a strawman argument - nobody went in expecting a deep drama. That's not what the criticism is...
Too late. The gross so far guarantees a sequel, and I'm guessing the same hacks will be behind that one. The best I can hope for is that they get some talented screenwriters and that Spielberg steps in and takes control of it...
Total strawman arguments. Nobody went in expecting a deep drama. We went in expecting a kick-ass action movie that wasn't dumb, dull and incompetent, but that's exactly what this movie was. Even you are constantly making excuses for the movie in your review. Why? You don't HAVE to. There...
That's what I expected too. And about 30 minutes of this movie IS that. Unfortunately, there is another 2 hours of utter dreck attached to those 30 minutes. I really like the first one, have seen it many times at home (looks splendid in HD DVD ), but seriously, "Revenge of the Fallen" is...
I just bought a plasma TV and found out, unfortunately, that there is a rainbow effect there too. I had NEVER heard about this before, and I chose plasma because I had terrible problems with the rainbows on DLP. I have found others online who have the same problem with plasma sets. How come...
Goldsman and Howard can thank their lucky stars that the movie starred Tom Hanks and had built-in appeal. They are two of the worst hacks in Hollywood, that for some reason happen to have had enough luck and know the right people that they get to keep on making these average movies. If I was...
Not that it's much of an indicator, but the trailer response for "Cars" was nonexistent whan I saw it in the theater (before M:I 3), but that could've been because it was not their target audience. The response for POTC: Dead Man's Chest on the other hand was amazing - people were actually...
Yeah, the trailer for Cars did absolutely nothing for me. I might not be in the target audience, but other animated movies have gotten me much more interested than this one. The jokes were not funny, and frankly the whole thing seemed kind of weird, with all the cars in the stands watching the...
I found it rather bland. I was entertained enough that it never got boring, but just like most other Ron Howard movies, this one lacked dynamics and "oomph"... the screenplay didn't help either, it went from point A to point B to point C without much originality. I have not read the book, and...
I just saw it, and found it rather bland. I was entertained enough that it never got boring, but Ron Howard's movies so far just don't do much for me, and this was no exception. His movies all lack "oomph"... they are always competent, never really bad, and always end with me feeling "well, that...
In the US, it seems that bikes are primarily used a) by adults for exercise and b) by kids for fun. When I used to ride a bike, it was for neither of those things, it was to get from point A to point B. It was often both faster and easier to use a bike than to use a car. I think because of a)...
I'm really looking forward to this. I think it will be great, but of course, I even like the new Simpsons episodes. Anyone else get sad when they think about the fact that Phil Hartman is not gonna be in it? I still miss his characters everytime I watch the show. :frowning:
I saw this film in the theater knowing absolutely nothing about it. I haven't followed relase schedules or read reviews in a while, and all I knew about this movie I learned from the poster as I was standing in line to buy tickets. Even then, I didn't even know it was a Spike Lee movie. I...
I was thinking about that too... and yeah, I figured the answer was something like that. :) I assumed she felt that the new haircut was part of her "new me".
He explained that fairly well in the movie, I thought. He figured it'd be the same as it had been before, they'd get a "slap on the wrist" - get fined and told sharply not to do that kind of stuff again. He assumed that since he had such a popular show and was a celebrity that they wouldn't...
I wonder if it'll face the same fate as shows like "Just shoot me" and "Drew Carey" where they just ran the remaining episodes during the summer. Too bad, because I liked "Joey" quite a bit, even though I can clearly see its weaknesses.
I wouldn't read too much into Hurley's comment about "or another time". He did say "Just kidding." Really seemed more like a joke from the writers, than something of importance. Great episode.
The paparazzi excuse/reason is only making it worse, IMO. If anything, she SHOULD restrain the baby then, both because she'd presumably know there'll be pictures taken AND because when she's "escaping" like that it increases the risk of an accident.
Oh, come on, we're living in the 21st century - fast food places should just put a barcode on the wrapping paper, and a reader by the trash cans... you get a refund applied to your credit card when you throw the trash away. ;)
From what you said, it seemed to me more like you invalidated his normal feelings of regret and empathy, that most children have when they accidentally hurt someone, by saying that he shouldn't feel bad about it. I wouldn't punish a kid for feeling bad about hitting a friend. Just ask him...
A prefectly normal reaction. And then you tell him that the other kid should just suck it up, and give him ideas for how to really beat someone up? I don't even know how to respond to that.
Hehe, the thing about cars is interesting. My 2-year-old is constantly crashing his Hot Wheels cars into eachother, and into other objects, yelling "Crash!". He also loves to get on his tricycle and ride it into a wall and yell "Crash!". I really have no clue where he's picked that up, I'm...
